finally got to try the acclaimed poke from this place! the uni (and uni deals) were an absolute steal and tasted super fresh. the poke was also pretty good overall. the tuna avocado and sweet shoyu salmon were super flavorful, but unfortunately i found the spicy salmon to be lacking in flavor, especially compared to the other two (and hence the four stars). maybe i came on an off day. would still come back to try other stuff though!
One of my favorite spot in Seattle! I recommend this place to everyone who comes to Seattle. The fish is fresh and super high quality. The portions are very generous. My favourite is the spicy salmon poke and the shoyu salmon poke with white rice, furikake, and a side of the macaroni salad. The tuna is also very very good - I just love salmon way more! 10/10 recommend!
Authentic and fresh seafood. Very friendly staff. They also remember their customers and treat them with respect and kindness.
An absolute staple to my trips back to Seattle! I grew up in Seattle and moved to Oakland three years ago, yet I never fail to visit Fish Guys every time. The BEST quality of salmon - so hunky, fatty, FRESH, and flavorful!! The portions are perfect for family meals, or just hungry peep! By far the best quality poke out here!
Fresh and delicious!
Great fresh fish and smoked salmon
Terrible attitude from the general manager. Very rude, awful customer service. Had to return some unagi that was far too mushy and slimy (far beyond what is normal for unagi). The girl working was friendly, apologetic and helpful. Whereas the GM was angry and mumbling comments under his breath.
Embarrassing way to behave for a general manager.
Fantastic poke! Not cheap, but worth the cost. Udon bowl was also great!
Been here a couple times and all past experience has been great. Yesterday I ordered a smoke salmon belly bowl and salmon sashimi and got food poisoned from the salmon sashimi... woke up at midnight to throw up and diarrhea. It's the only meal I ate for the day
They came all the way from Austin Texas and their priority was to visit the Seattle Fish Guys in the Central District. Having lived there in the past I was very familiar with this iconic place. Super cool humans from Hawaii open this a little while before Covid, and then during Covid they expanded their offerings and became a Mecca for all good things raw fish and Asian comfort food.
There was a line when we arrived, of course but the lines moved very quickly because the staff are so adept... and charming. Besides the line gives you a chance to figure out what you want because you walk in with one idea and then you see everything else and begin to change your mind. It's when you see the eel/Inagi and the salmon belly on display.
When we walked in we were thinking pokey when we walked out we had also ordered three of the just shucked fresh Uni which were 3/$10 -- a fantastic price, as well as the iconic Hood Famous Ube cheesecake, and we ordered the spicy tuna poke, the creamy salmon poke, spicy salmon poke, and some scallops. The sides we chose included: the seaweed salad, kimchi, and the mac salad -- which should not be underestimated.
We also tried for the first time Inari Sushi: five pieces for just $9.99 -- it is the best deal in the house and the flavors are extraordinarily good: Hokkaido scallops with truffle, spicy Otoro tuna, basil garlic salmon with fresh ikura caviar (salmon roe), and uni. If you try nothing else while you're there take one of these home.
Also to home some salmon chirashi because as the photos show: the salmon slices were so thick and fresh. This place is always innovating and one of the new products I saw was travel bags of smoked salmon that you can take back to family. The price was amazing (6 POUNDS of smoked salmon for $150 -- that will take care of any family gathering and no one will say that you scrimped) and I'll be back to pick that up for Christmas holiday travel.
There were also advertising shrimp udon! They're simply wasn't enough stomach for all the food we wanted to try.
They coolers packed with the right sake or the specialty drinks that we had growing up, ranging from the sweet stuff like Calpico,to familiar bottles of chilled green tea.
And just when you think you can leave, at the counter they plant warm spam musubi -- slay me now. It's hard not to take one home for the kids.
Expect to throw down while you're there, but because the value is so great and the food tastes so amazing, you'll feel like that was the best money you spent.
Highly recommend. And that's an understatement.

Amazing food for a very reasonable price!!
legitimately the best poke you can get on the mainland. you can try to fight me on this but you’ll lose. this is as close as you can get to real, hawaiian poke without being in hawaii itself.
the owners are amazing guys that have brought their skills over to seattle and i’m so thankful for it. i crave it constantly. they’re also partially a seafood market. i personally haven’t taken any of their seafood home, but it’s the same stuff they’re using to make the poke… so it’s gotta be good.
the inside of the place is pretty tiny, i think there’s only like 2-3 tables if i recall correctly. it’s a very unassuming spot… but you will be blown away by the poke. this is another spot that i try to take all my out-of-town friends to, as this is some of the best food seattle has to offer.
Great place for fresh fish
Best local seafood and poke spot. And if they have smoked salmon belly, make sure to order a plate, or two!
quality went down significantly:(
