This place is fantastic for kids! They offer a dedicated, enclosed kids' area packed with toys. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent too.

This restaurant has great food with excellent variety. However the service is rude and not very good and the seats are just hard wood without cushions which makes it very uncomfortable.

Jennifer and staff are wonderful - great service and great food! I loved my breakfast plate and lavendar latte. Such a fun atmosphere and local neighborhood spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner or drink with friends.

Service was cold and impatient; no one greeted us or made eye contact with us while we waited to be seated for about 10 minutes. Once we were seated, I tried to order for my daughter first and was told rudely we needed to order all at once because it didn’t make sense to have the food come out at different times. For a place that claims to be family friendly, that particular impatient response seemed misaligned. I was frustrated and didn’t make eye contact when I eventually ordered and ended with a comment about my daughter needing her drink to which our server snapped back, “She already has it.” Just so hostile- seemed like she was having a bad day but don’t take it out off your customers.

The food was pretty good, though. Will look for a more welcoming vibe going forward

Update your hours, says you’re open until 11 but you’re not even open until 8pm.

Neighborhood gem with a knowledgeable bartender, the best BLT around, and spectacular Gorgonzola fries.

The White Bean Chicken Chili is very tasty! It'd be better with a bit more shredded chicken in it, but the flavor is great. Tis also PSL season, and the flavor of the coffee and pumpkin spice was...not disappointing! Wish the bench seats had some padding.

Honestly, this cafe was great. The vibe was awesome—perfect table spacing and the decor was gorgeous. The clam chowder and breakfast dishes were amazing; seriously good comfort food! The only annoying bit was our server. We arrived at noon and stayed until about 1:30 PM on a Friday, which felt like a normal amount of time for lunch, but they seemed really keen to get rid of us towards the end. It was a shame, because the food and atmosphere were spot-on

The Magnolia downtown hub on W McGraw St is filled with quaint local businesses offering a variety of dining options, and Serendipity Cafe doesn't fall short in lending its share of charm to the scene. Incredibly personable staff with the type of cafe fare that perfectly hits the spot on a morning or afternoon stroll. Prices were reasonable, but to be transparent, that's given the context of location and the expectations I have going to a locally owned place, so while I am eager to reassure that the prices are appropriate and worth what you get, it's probably only a few-times-a-month option for my budget. I was able to get a patio seat during some great weather, and it was a very relaxing experience dining with a family member. I called ahead to confirm they were comfortable with accommodating my dog in their patio space, and not only did they welcome my little pal, they eagerly gave him some attention and treats that he was thrilled to receive. When there was a small accident with his leash getting caught on the table and spilling some water, something I was prepared to apologize for as the one imposing on them to abide my furry companion, they promptly helped with the spilled water without missing a beat, and made me feel less embarrassed by saying sorry and suggesting accountability for getting him too excited before I could adjust his leash. I would never imply fault on anybody but myself when I take my dog to public spaces, as that is the burden of responsibility I acknowledge is part of the social contract when bringing an animal places; however, it was a heartening display of hospitality that definitely made a good impression. This is the type of establishment that enriches our community, so whether you are going for a stroll on a beautiful day, or need somewhere to warm your belly and soul on a rainy day, please stop by and given them your business!

Excellent place to stop for lunch after hiking at Discovery Park. We had the Serendipity Salad, the salad + soup combo, a vegetarian burrito, and a gluten free tuna melt. Everything was delicious. We especially liked how everything was well seasoned, even the tuna melt had some paprika and other spices on it.
