Our server was very patience and understanding that friend and I would like to take time to order since we were busy catching up. We were celebrating birthdays and were offered with a delicious grilled prawn appetizer on the house. What an amazing and delish surprise! Every dish we ordered- kale salad, Dungeness crab tostada, grilled Ora King Salmon and Hokkaido scallops were absolutely divine! I will definitely be going back to S&S for another dinner~ extremely happy and satisfied diner!
Great service and nice ambience. Food was good, but slightly over-seasoned, which didn't allow the high quality ingredients to shine.
The service was terrific and the ambiance of the restaurant was moody and evocative. The zero proof drinks were inspired. It was the food, though that really makes this place memorable The chef here is an inspired artist. Simple entries and appetizers that are more than the sum of their ingredients. I've never had better scallops. The fried mushrooms were so good too. I had their new dessert, a baklava tiramisu that was very interesting and delicious, though a few tweaks could make it awesome! More honey sauce and maybe a dollop of mascarpone. Dine here! You'll dine well!
The breakfasts were really fantastic--especially the smoked salmon benedict. The dinners are quite pricey but good and creative. The server wouldn't let us order appetizers and then the entree, saying something about the kitchen being too small. That was odd. The servers at breakfast were excellent, but this one at dinner made it clear we had to play by her (unusual) rules.
As always, excellent food, outstanding service and great atmopshere. Tried a couple of new dishes and they were amazing! Will continue to come back to try their new seasonal dishes. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Service was rushed. I ordered the seasonal tasting menu and was expecting to have the dish explained to me or at least a menu to keep me in line with what was being served. Food was mediocre. The oyster was extremely fresh and delicious. The braised short ribs was nothing to write home about. Dessert was meh. Overall, very disappointed in the meal.
we waited for more than 15 mins even though we had a reservation. service was slow and food was okay.
Felt very comfortable dining solo. The chef is very focused engaging with his food prep that makes it fascinating
Shaker + Spear made my solo Thanksgiving really fantastic! The food was excellent: juicy turkey, fantastic cornbread-sage stuffing, creamy mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and a bright cranberry sauce. Every bite felt like the holiday done right. Angie took care of me all evening and was outstanding, warm, attentive, and made dining alone completely comfortable. Her wine pairings were perfect: crisp Chablis with the turkey, a smooth Oregon Pinot Noir that paired beautifully with the stuffing and gravy, and a lightly sweet Riesling that was spot-on with the kabocha squash crème brûlée dessert. That dessert, by the way, was incredible: silky squash custard with a perfect crackly sugar top. It was exactly the relaxed, delicious Thanksgiving I was hoping for. Great food, great service, no fuss. Thank you, Angie and Shaker + Spear. I left full and happy and will definitely be back.
Food was a problem. My kids ordered the rib eye.16 oz do I had them share it as they are young. We ordered it medium rare and it came out well done. No pink at all. They would not eat it lol. Ordered a 2nd and it came out rare which my son liked but my daughter did not. My wife and I had the whole fish (snapper), it lacked flavor. No recognizable sauce or seasoning short of the squash puree they used to hold it in place. Not bad flavor if you want a plain fried fish but it really could have used a light sauce snd vinegar element. It was a bit shocking given the ratings this restaurant received from past customers. Perhaps we just chose poor menu options or it was a bad day in the kitchen.

Had a great time at Shaker + Spear! Good food, nice ambience, we felt welcomed. We sat at the chef counter and received excellent service from our waiter Aaron and the kitchen crew. We will be back again. Thank you!
Outstanding! Will be back for sure. Grab counter seats and enjoy the show of the open kitchen
Shaker and Spear really delivered amazing dishes. I enjoyed the perfectly crafted duck and very delicious fried mushrooms. I almost went with the potatoes, but the fried mushrooms were the way to go. My spouse ordered the risotto with scallops... amazing! Cocktails were good, but I think the bar upstairs put out a slightly better Manhattan.
Well managed, food was great, very clean and staff worked together well. Great attention to all details of service. There was no wait on any day and all food was prepared within sight.
Amazing time, will be back! Servers were great, and enjoyed the vibe. Food was also incredible.
