Small portions aside from the potato cake. Service and everything else deserves a 4.

BEWARE!!
Long time customer here, as i grew up in this area. Today, I had the Frenchman and my elderly dad had a mushroom and cheddar omelet. About 3hrs afterwards (while we were enjoying an IMAX movie) we had to leave because we both had severe stomach issues. Completely ruined our day. We are never going back here again. Still in pain and just hoping it doesn't get worse.....

Carpet smells when you walk in. The food was overcooked, and there are better diners out there. For these reasons you’d expect the prices to be more reasonable.

Classic American breakfast joint/diner; vibes and service are great. We left a water bottle and power bank, they kept it for us when we showed up the next day!

I've been going to shays, pretty regularly, since I was very young. The owners are very sweet. The waitresses are very caring and on top of things.

Love this place. Been here several times now to give a few menu items a fair shake. I'll talk about each one below. The short is that I'll be coming back as often as possible. Staff are always a delight with that homey vibe, and as someone who's picky about black diner coffee, it's great - got my refills going strong.
The omelettes, burgers, and prime rib sandwiches are all outstanding. I think I was audibly having a moment after biting into those haha. I'll probably rotate between these 3 when I come back. Wayyyy above your average diner.
I had a Country Fried Steak + Eggs, and a Monte Cristo too, both of which weren't bad by any means, just maybe a 7 or 8/10. Didn't blow me away like the others but still above average. Fries are also fine. Probably the better CFS in the area, at least.
Apparently they hand-cut the prime rib so if I'm getting a new thing on the menu it's gonna be Steak + Eggs.

The food is delicious and the service is great. It is a fine place to meet with friends for a meal.
Dinner in the bar + karaoke. It was only my second time going but both times the tables were sticky. The smell is musty. Too bad the owner won't just replace furniture and carpet.

The food was terrible nothing like the pictures you see online here I simply got French toast bacon and eggs the French toast was terrible just tasted like bread with an egg on top they definitely need a better cook and for the service the lady was nice but way too distracted and it wasn’t even busy we tried getting her attention for ketchup multiple time and she never came had to borrow it from someone else at the bar very disappointed in this place
