Best sushi i've ever had in America. Cannot recommend this place enough! The owner and waiters are super kind as well :) I will not get sushi any where else!

Amazing food and service, and run by very kind people. My friend forgot her purse here and they actually came back after hours to help us on short notice. I can't wait to come back!

We loved our experience at Shiki. We are staying nearby and walked over. We weren't disappointed. The restaurant is small but was busy and felt like a cozy family restaurant. It seemed like we were in the right place for delicious Japanese/excellent sushi. We were warned sushi service might be slow but the service was incredibly fast. We loved the salmon teriyaki, sake recommendation, and beef udon. We also had salmon and tuna nigiri and it was incredible. Miso was delicious and the tempura veggies were great. Not too heavy. Prices are reasonable and food is excellent! Would recommend to anyone.

Really like the atmosphere, small and intimate, feels like a slice of Japan in Seattle. Sushi is good and fresh, reasonably priced ($40 each) I mean you can’t even get fast food for $20 in Seattle these days so this is pretty good value. Service is good and friendly, will come back

So amazingly delicious.
I had one of the most infuriating dining experiences at Shiki tonight.
We ordered the uni nigiri — four pieces for four people. The first person ate theirs and said it was fine. I was the second, and the moment I bit into mine, I immediately knew something was wrong. It reeked — unmistakably rotten. I had to spit it out right away, and the disgusting taste lingered in my mouth for hours.
We told the server, who said he’d speak with the owner. But instead of acknowledging the issue, he came back saying “the owner thinks it’s fine”, and he himself ate one of the remaining pieces and claimed it was okay — so they refused to comp it.
Are you kidding me?
I’ve eaten uni more times than I can count. I’ve even cleaned and prepared it myself. I know when it’s gone bad. I had no reason to lie — everything else we ordered that night was great. I wasn’t looking for a free ride. But when something is clearly spoiled, shouldn’t the customer’s experience be the standard?
Here’s the cherry on top: after I stood my ground and explained all of this, they finally agreed to take off the price of my piece — the one I actually bit into and spat out. But the other two pieces, which my friends were too disgusted and scared to eat after what happened? They refused to remove those from the bill.
WTF.
So in Shiki’s world, as long as they think it’s fine, it doesn’t matter how bad it was for the customer. I left angry, disappointed, and with the taste of rotten uni still in my mouth. Never again.

Very authentic Japanese restaurant with excellent service. They sometimes feature seasonal ingredients imported directly from Japan, so be sure to check the whiteboard at the entrance. The restaurant is small and located in an older building. There’s a free parking lot with a small sign displaying the restaurant’s logo, but once it fills up, parking nearby can be difficult or expensive.

Shiki is an amazing spot. High quality sushi, reasonable prices, and the chef/owner Ken is a legend. Also if you’re a Japanese baseball fan you will love Shiki that much more

Soggy tempura, extremely salty sukiyaki, slow service, over the top price, overly crowded, I’m sorry but I can’t think of one good thing to say about this place
