Got the pistachio and coffee ice creams on a cone. Plain. Tasted ordinary. The pistachio tasted really flavored artificially. The coffee was too strong of coffee bean. Bitter. Service was a little moody and not particularly welcoming at a fun ice cream store. Came here for my birthday. Not a great experience overall.

Get the cherry amaretto. Seriously so good. Not my typical go to but I'm so glad I ventured out.

definitely skip this place! the setting is beautiful and retro but the staff is terrible and rude. not welcoming or friendly at all instead they are snotty and act like patrons are a nuisance. The staff will completely ruin your experience. The ice cream is just ice cream nothing special.

I stood in line for a brownie sundae for 20 minutes. I got to the front of the line and was told they didn’t have any brownies... ?

I need to talk about Lopez Island Creamery, the ice cream served at Shug's. It is absolutely the best ice cream I've ever had. We built a sundae with pistachio, coconut, and earl grey flavors, with sprinkles, cherries, and whipped cream (it was meant for a 4 year old, but dad & I ate most of it!!!). The ice cream is absolutely delicious .. creamy, not at all too sweet. Perfect! The space is very cute and cozy, overall a fun experience. My husband also ordered a Guinness float because how could you not, which he loved. After doing some digging, we sadly discovered we would only be treated to Lopez Island ice cream while here in Seattle. We will dream of it when we return home to the east coast!!

This is a cute shop just off Pike Place. We went in on a lark after our alternative was closed this winter. I have to say that I was and still am a bit surprised by the icecream here. It was really really good and creamy. I guess I would describe the salted caramel I had as almost melty in texture in a good way. Perhaps more frozen custard like than icecream. It was quite delicious. The little one rode the mechanical pony for 15 seconds and then gnawed through a cone of chocolate faster than I could post this review. It's a good walk-in if you walk by. 5/5

I always love treating myself to Shug's. The staff is spectacular because they talk to you like an old friend and have great suggestions. They're up for any alteration or mixture. My egg cream was delicious and the blueberry sorbet was DREAMY. The atmosphere is classy and plays 50's soda fountain favorites. The restroom is remarkably clean for a Pike Place establishment. TRY THE PROSECCO FLOAT. Treat yoself!

Honestly, this was only okay. The ambiance inside is nice, as I really appreciate the retro design of the ice cream parlor. We came here on a rainy day, so it was pretty empty as well. The ice cream was pretty standard. Nothing particularly special or standout, and nothing that you probably couldn't buy a carton of from your local grocery store. The entire experience was just very much.. okay. Kinda overhyped, kinda overpriced. Overall just fine.

Old school style ice cream and soda shop. The people working whipped up wonderful deserts with purpose and determination (the line was out the door and it took probably less than 10 min to get to the front, order and start enjoying some of the best ice cream i have ever had). Could do without the paper straws, but that is the world we live in now.

Cute ice cream spot downtown! They have a wide variety of flavors. I got earl grey tea ice cream while my best friend got guava. The spot is cute with decent amount of seating and perfect spot for a sweet treat.

I stopped by Shug's on a weekend afternoon. Due to the relatively cold weather (40 F) I was mildly surprised to see that there were about a half dozen people in the shop, but when I walked in there was no line. A worker immediately saw me and let me take my time looking at the menu to see what enticed me. Due to being in a mild hurry, I just decided to try and ice cream scoop in a waffle cone. As the worker got my order ready, I took a look around and the shop was super cute! Great retro vibe, and some really cool items. I got my cone and headed out. The ice cream itself was great! Creamy, and very well flavored. The waffle cone was also pretty good, and I'd definitely get it again. I plan to come back and give some of their classic items a try!
