It's hard to settle on a food place in Seattle because the highly rated ones are really hard to get in to-especially for brunch on a weekend. Skillet should be one of those places but I was able to make a reservation on Open Table easily. First, the staff is friendly and attentive. Second, wow the food! I ordered the Whisky shrimp and grits and they blew my mind. My spouse got the Skillet skillet with bacon, potatoes, peppers, mushrooms, aioli and eggs cooked in a-you guessed it-cast iron skillet. We also ordered the brioche French toast which came with bacon jelly. All their sauces are made in house and have a little kick to them so if spice isn't your thing ask to have them on the side. Their starters include donuts using a beignet batter and monkey bread, which we will definitely order next time we visit. Can't wait to go back!!
The food was great. I tried the scramble with bacon. The bacon was crisp and everything was fresh. I really enjoyed the apple juice mimosa. Service was excellent. Can't wait to try it again!
Great breakfast at Skillet! No wait and our waitress was super attentive. The food was great and had big portions. Such a little gem in the city! We loved it!
I ordered the chicken and waffles, but unfortunately, the chicken was cold and soggy. Although it was supposed to be deepfried, the crust was peeling off and lacked any crispiness, it tasted like it had been sitting in a heat tray for too long. I visited on a busy Saturday in the morning, so I expected the food to be fresh, but that wasn’t the case. After bringing it to the staff’s attention, I was only given $5 off, despite barely touching my meal. Overall, I was really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this place.
Awesome place for breakfast. Food is tasty, people are friendly. Morning cocktail list is the best for an eye opener.
Very friendly service. Everything was delicious and savory. Pancakes were a different style, more cakes, but delicious. Very clean. Definitely will come back.
Very clean! Our server is very kind and helped me navigate the food due to my gluten allergy! I forgot he name but she's super cool. My food is delicious breakfast sandwich with GF bread. My husband had breakfast burrito!
Best place I went to during my time in Seattle. Food was perfectly cooked and seasoned.. service was amazing also from entering to leaving. I'll be back one day.
Great place to eat.
A Refreshing Breakfast Stop in a Great Location
We had a great experience at Skillet Diner @ Post Alley. Our server, Jackie R., was absolutely wonderful — friendly, attentive, and eager to explain the menu with a smile. The food was a refreshingly unique spin on classic breakfast sandwiches — familiar yet creative and flavorful.
The diner itself was spotless, with plenty of comfortable seating and a stylish, vintage yet modern vibe. Its location in Harbor Steps Staircase Plaza is both beautiful and convenient, making it a great stop whether you're starting your day or just exploring downtown Seattle. Highly recommended!

We loved breakfast for dinner at a neat spot with fantastic food.
Delicious breakfast and awesome staff! Thank you!
The food is really good - I had the cobb salad with fried chicken, and my companion had the Nashville fried chicken sandwich. highly recommend both. The poutine is excellent as well.
Everything was fine. Server was working hard but was extremely over worked. Too many tables to be able to provide attentive service.
Tasty food, huge portions, a server with personality who's good @ his job... what more can you ask for in @ breakfast. Excellent all the way ‘round.
