Great experience! Kinda an odd night, going away party for their former chef, but his family made the best pupusas I've ever had! That, of course, was one of, but the service and vibe was also excellent.

The Carne Street Tacos are really stuffed with great goodies and at 3 for $10, can't be beat. Great beers and a nuce crowd in a divey atmosphere. Bar lady keeps things moving and chill.

Sloop is a fantastic dive bar with a friendly, capable staff and a solid, flavorful menu.
Aiden took great care of me at the bar, quickly recommending the house fries—crispy shoestring style—that paired perfectly with my cheeseburger. He also nailed it with a saison suggestion for my spouse instead of a sour, which was spot-on.

My favorite spot in the city. Great pool tables that are affordable, great bartenders, cheap beer, and good food. It attracts the right people and a great place to be on a Friday night.

Grill by be, doesn't aganeae about it
Came in with 6 guys after a long work day out on the water. One of our guys, who is 22 years old, and a hard working commercial diver, was asked to leave because his drivers license was the vertical version. He didn't even want to drink, just eat dinner with the rest of us. The Sloop Tavern has a *policy*, they do not honor vertical ID, despite it being a legal, Washington state issued ID card and he is over 21, he was asked to leave and had to sit out in the truck while the rest of us were inside.
I don't know about the rest of you folks, but it's not my *policy* to punish everyone for the issues of a few. The waitress said the policy was because they had people who would hand their old ID to an underage friend to drink.
What that had to do with our guy, I have no idea, but I have to tell you, that is the flat out most ig-norant *policy* I have ever heard, and I think refusing to serve even food to our guy was a clear case of age discrimination and is quite possibly breaking a law.
My first inclination was for all of us to walk out, but a couple of us had already ordered and had drinks served.
Also, what kind of bar/rest doesn't have table service? We all had to line up and order at the bar.
What the heck happened to good service???
We have plenty more work in the area this year, but this place is off the list permanently.

Don’t go here if you want to play pull tabs. They are just for show

Avoid the fish. I could have done better with the freezer section at Costco. Really, avoid the fish. Onions rings are good. First bartender was terrible. Second one was better. Hard pass across the board.
In response to the response: I guess you happened to find a clientele with poor taste buds. Or maybe it was an off day, either way, it was bad.

Before moving to the East side I would frequent sloop as I worked across the street. Unfortunately going back yesterday (11/23) was not a great experience. First, they messed up 2 of the 4 food orders. We were really hungry and so ate anyways but when closing out I wanted to make sure the tab was correct with what we actually got. When realizing it wasn't, the bartender offered to give cash back which I took figuring it would be easier than ringing it up again. He then gave me $5 when the difference was $5.50. He asked why I didn't mention it earlier but throughout it all he was acting as if it was a burden to be ordering at all such as being short with me when I asked what the beers were since the sign was not up to date
