I used to love the food here but the past couple of times I've not been able to eat my roll due to the burnt smell coming from it. Also saw someone go from using the cash register to mixing one of the chaats without switching out gloves. Could have been a one off, but enough concern that I won't go back for awhile. May try again in 6 months or so.

This place makes the best food in Seattle.

I used to live near here, and I would visit at least once a week. Now that I live in a different neighborhood I only make it back to Ballard every 2-3 months. Every time I make an effort to stop at Spice Waala. I just stopped by a couple days ago and it was better than I remembered.

I would request a lamb roll and brown chutney as my last meal.

Get a Kathi roll and pick a few snacks from the menu as sides. Makes for a great dinner with friends or family. Great choices for vegetarians. Soft serve is a great treat and they have lots of unique flavors.

The food is delicious. The only complaint I have is the limited hours they are open. A couple of times I've stopped by to get some food only to realize they are not open at all on some days, and not open for lunch on some of the days they are open. I guess maybe they don't have enough demand to stay open more hours, although the Thai place right next door is often open and doing good business while the Indian place is closed.

Love the food, one of the best in the Seattle area. Would love to have the music turned down a bit.

Love this place. Always fresh ingredients, perfectly spiced, and the flavors are unmatched. I appreciate the healthy ratio of filing to wrap in the rolls. It’s the perfect size for a light lunch, and the sides are all great add-ons if you’re a little more hungry - Chana chaat is our go-to. Highly recommend.

Order style: for here

*Disclaimer: usually we compare and rate "regular" unflavored fries + any favored fries, but this place only has the flavored fries too taste and no "regular"

Texture: overall average, a wanna be strong outer with the overall texture being soft, hit and miss with crispy. If you want crispy fries, this is not your place, but if you're ok with fair food fries with a thin occasional crisp, this is the spot.

Flavor: wow yummy! :) I'm not a spicy girl, usually like lvl 1 everything and I could handle these and wanted more. As a non spice eater, I do rate these at a level 2 spicy, but totally tolerable and addictive. My tongue is burning but not in a bad way. It doesn't feel salty, which is great, just full of flavor.

Comes with side of green chutney, a lovely cool dip to balance the spice. Herbaceous.

While this is an anomaly on Tour de Fry, I would 100% recommend the fries and come to order them again.

Fantastic no nonsense Indian street food served with smile and vibes. Try the Fennel soft serve if it’s available.

I worked with Uttam of Spice Waala to cater my low-key wedding at Cathedral in Ballard. The food was amazing, many compliments were received. And Uttam was so easy to work with! Speedy communication, over-the-top service-- setting me up with chafing dishes and compostable plates and cutlery. Highly recommend!
