Great taste. We drive quite a bit for this and it was totally worth it. We tried the papdi chaat, and the chicken and lamb rolls.

Ordered Papdi Chat and chicken tikka roll. Chicken Tikka roll was good- love the amount of chicken stuffing and flavour. The chapati/roll was also surprisingly very soft.We ordered a take out and I was very impressed with how well they packed Papdi Chat. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of this. My experience would have been 5/5 if only the aloo was not undercooked.Recommend this place for a quick snack or chai pe charcha.

Spice Waala is my go-to for a delicious lunch or dinner in Ballard. Their chicken and lamb rolls are delicious, their fries with green chutney are fantastic, and they keep shaking up their menu with new specials. Service is quick and friendly, whether I order online or in person. It's a great casual place that I would recommend to anyone, even people like me who aren't too familiar with Indian food.

Our favourite place to go for a quick bite! Hope they open on the east side someday soon :)

TLDR; Some things on the menu are authentic, others are not.We stopped by for a quick bite and overall I was left disappointed but my husband really liked his chicken kathi roll. The paneer one I ordered was just weird all around - texture, flavor. For the price however, this place is a good deal!Vegetarian options: They have several vegetarian options, but unfortunately the one I tried was really not great. Can’t say the same for the other options.

Spice Waala has been our weekend staple for the last 2 years. I never had a chance to review it before although I come here often. What we ordered - Masala Aloo, Lamb Kebab roll, Chicken tikka rollWhat we think - The chicken and lamb were so tender and well marinated. The masala aloo was delicious as always - tangy and spicy. They focus on consistency- and having a small menu - qualities which I highly desire at any restaurant. They also have monthly specials and you will get notified on your email during Indian festivals - highly recommended to taste the full breadth of Indian cuisine. I hope for their continued success and hope they expand in the Puget sound.

If hype is the now the new authentic... oily chapati & french fries do not make for Indian street food. Shame on you for claiming ethnicity with zippety gastro pedigree. Scooter's with a heavy shake of paprika & slim pickings of street food originality. Thelawala & Taco Majal of NYC would be a worthier aspiration.

Usually with Indian restaurants and eating joints my experience hasn't been that great anywhere in US because they cannot recreate that magic what we get in India. But this place stood beyond my expectations in taste and I can say they give some of the best Indian Kathi rolls. We got our order a little late and the staff for so nice in offering us a free mango lassi as a courtesy. Must go place for their awesome Indian street food.

Great place for the Kathi rolls! I tried the aloo tikki roll - absolutely delicious!! My partner loved the chicken tikka roll.I liked their chaat too - tried the papdi chaat and channa chaat. While they taste amazing, I generally prefer hot chaat and not cold ones. So, something to keep in mind as you order your chaat! ?

Got the Paneer Bhurji Kathi Roll and the Chana chaat. The kathi roll was pretty dry, and it being stuffed with ground paneer certainly did not help. It tasted equivalent to taking bites of roti and straight paneer. The lack of flavor made this dish hard to get down (definitely needed water), but for a Kathi roll, the abundant paneer made this entree quite filling. The Chana chaat, on the other hand, tasted really good. The beans were cooked well, and they were pretty generous with the cilantro chutney. The chutney was surprisingly authentic, and so it made this dish taste like ones you'd get at an Indian potluck. If you end up getting this combination of dishes, I'd recommend eating the chaat with the Kathi roll at the same time to get your flavor in. (The other chaats looked pretty good too).

Amazing! Finally some good North and East Indian street food in Seattle. This place serves authentic flavors. The portion sizes are Indian-sized and not the super-sized American portions which is a win IMO. Prices are reasonable.
