Garbage service. Dont even know what the food or drink tastes like because we waited 45 min to get served and left.

I’d intended to walk down to Ludi’s but didn’t feel like it so I tried the Spruce Café in the hotel. I ended up ordering one of my favorite dishes … Chicken and Waffle ($21) and coffee ($4.75).

This was a very interesting take on this dish … the chicken came as a string of six pieces of battered, fried chicken sitting on two (easy over) eggs, atop a Belgian-style waffle. A dusting of powdered sugar over the chicken and a small container of maple syrup completed the dish. I asked my server to request the kitchen make the waffle extra crispy as the heat from the chicken and eggs softens the middle of the waffle. Alas, it didn’t come that way so I scarfed down the chicken and eggs so I could eat a somewhat crispy waffle.

My meal was okay but could have been better. $34.41, including 20% tip and credit card surcharge.

Wait for one hour. Table behind of us got served. After we asked, after 20 minutes, still nothing showing up.

Poor service. We have waited 40 minutes for our breakfast. Apparently they failed to put in our order.

Stayed in the hotel next door and came across this place on a search engine, food was good, freshly cooked and the price seemed average for Seattle.
Well worth a visit, better than paying $15 for a bagel next door.

Delicious food and sat immediately despite clearly being a popular spot. Like Chan, I think they wouldn’t suffer from having more than 2 people out on the floor, but it wasn’t a huge deal. Friendly staff and yummy start to the day!

I’m here now. Won’t finish my food because it tastes bad, and the service between both servers required us to ask repeatedly for the same things over and over. There are many cafes nearby that are five stars. Go there.

Added edit: they never came back to refill my drink, and I had to ask another table for the items we requested from both waitresses.

The weirdest thing ever happened to us. As we were paying I asked for a diet coke and a coke to go. He said ok gave me the check I paid, the server came back with the Togo bag and a coke. I asked for the diet coke we also ordered. He said ok I'll have to charge you I didn't put that on your check. I said ok that's fine never mind then since I had already put away my wallet and didn't care enough to run my card again. THEN he said well if you don't want to pay for that I also didn't cheage you for the coke I gave you he then REACHES INTO MY BAG and takes the coke back. Baffled we said ok and sat there to finish our coffee. The server could not just leave it at that he then brings us the check insisting that we see he didn't charge us no matter how many times we said it's fine just drop it. The food was ok but not good enough to outweigh the servers actions

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but I felt it was worth warning others. The food wasn’t great, bacon and bagel were rock hard and had to be sent back. Waffles were soggy, though the pancakes were decent. The washroom setup is ridiculous, you need to ask the server for a key and then take an elevator to the second floor. Very disappointing as I took my wife here for Mother’s Day brunch.

In town for a conference from Dallas and have been searching for a yummy, reasonably priced breakfast spot and I am so glad I found Spruce Cafe!!

Real deal espresso and yummy flavored espresso drinks (I got a PSL in APRIL y’all!), and great food. A huge bowl of fresh fruit for $6, incredibly delicious Greek yogurt for $4, and the most delicious honey I’ve ever had IN MY LIFE.

Service was good, especially considering they got pretty busy after I got there.

My only suggestion is whomever is making their sourdough bread needs to add more salt to the dough but, the sourdough flavor itself was great - very tangy!

Wouldn’t recommend, food not fresh nor is the menus clear about ingredients.

The food was spectacular and the service was very friendly.
