Expensive garbage. Don't waste your time or money.

Great view from the inside and order was quick and employees were friendly. Fish and chips however are the most mid fish and chips I’ve ever had. Do not recommend

I eat fish and chips 2 or three times a month. Most of the time, I get my fishy crunch with fries fix wherever I can - fast food, hole in the wall joints or food trucks. The quality you find is hit or miss, so I occasionally try new places to see if there is a reliable place to get fried goodness. That was the plan when I drove down to Greenlake to check out Spuds.
It is the middle of December, and there were not many folks at the lake, so finding parking was easy. I did have to pay $5 to park on the street, but I was less than a block away from the door. Spuds is in a nice building on a nice block. I have been to other restaurants in the chain that are in very sketchy locations, so I was happy. I was even happier to go in and see that the inside of the restaurant was clean and inviting.
The woman behind the counter greeted me warmly and gave me a moment to look over the menu before she asked if I had been there before. I said no, and she launched into a thorough explanation of the menu items. I learned that the fish was cod and that the employee's favorite was the shrimp. I paid attention, but I was distracted by the prices. She told me the single fish and chips was plenty, but my hunger caused me to order the single with extra for $22.
The basket that showed up at my table was piled high with fish stacked on some fries. I asked for and received extra tartar sauce and dove in. The first bite was a let down. While the fish looked great - perfectly golden brown and free of excess grease - when I bit into it, I discovered that the batter was too thick and not nearly cooked through.
I hate sending stuff back and hate myself for not asserting myself, but I am what I am. I ate as much as I could and headed out.

I went to this place with a friend who's really into Fish & Chips and she said that the food was good, but not top notch. We shared a double, consisting of Cod if I recall it correctly. I liked it, but I can't really compare it, since I'm not the slightest into eating fish. The staff was super nice and we even got some fish extra.

I’ve been going to spuds since I’ve been a little kid. Prices are a little now but probably because of inflation and the high rent district, but they do give you good portion sizes. One of the best fish and chips places out there, if not the best.

A family favorite since we were children, the prices have gone up quite a bit! My brother didn't care for the food at all, no shrimp cocktail anymore, the seating inside was limited, and there was outside seating, walk across the street to the lake, but we would still go back.
Parking: We parked pretty easily on the street for free, I have parked in the garage next-door before and as well.

A classic that still shines in every way. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite (a trifecta that rarely occurs anymore). The food is hot, fresh and delicious. Pretty much impossible to be disappointed. Highly recommended!

Family owned and operated, the cleanest restaurant in green lake.
The food was well portioned, hot and fresh.
Server and chef were phe·nom·e·nal. Very polite, friendly and really inspired me as a restaurant worker. Very satisfied for what I paid and I’d go as far and say best fish n chips in green lake ❤️. We’ll be back when I’m skating in the area. Very tasty ketchup and tartar. Don’t forget to tip at Least 25 percent. They deserve it!!!!!

It's not a very nice place. It is affordable for the price, but mussel pan is not mussel pan. The potatoes were not cooked at all and were raw inside.
