Great food and servers. We ate in the private dining room downstairs, and it remains one of my favorite places to hold an intimate gathering. It would be even better if they installed some sound dampening wall coverings, as it gets too loud when multiple people are speaking.
We had an amazing experience at Staple & Fancy!
The burrata with pistachio pesto was absolutely unforgettable, really the best pistachio pesto I have ever had. The salmon crudo and crab ravioli were both incredible, full of fresh flavor and perfectly executed. To top it off, their homemade ginger beer was spectacular, refreshing and unique.
The service was excellent, with a friendly waiter and a warm, welcoming host who made us feel right at home.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

A true gem in Seattle’s dining scene!
Staple & Fancy is everything you want in a night out—elegant yet approachable, creative yet comforting. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the service was impeccable—knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food.
We went with the “fancy” tasting menu, and every single dish was a delightful surprise. Perfectly paced, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Highlights included the handmade pasta, fresh seafood, and the unexpected little bites that arrived between courses. You can tell there’s serious culinary talent in the kitchen.
The cocktails were expertly crafted, and the wine list offered thoughtful pairings that complemented the meal perfectly.
If you’re looking for a place to celebrate or simply indulge in a memorable dining experience, Staple & Fancy delivers on every level. Can’t wait to come back!

Part of the tired and worn abundance of mediocre food at premium prices in Seattle. Service was just okay and felt like we were purposefully being rushed through the experience by our waitress. A 22% service charge for this wasn't fair.
We had the chef’s table four course meal, with my partner ordering the vegetarian option. They were able to accommodate both of us with each course, and everything we had was absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend.

This was my first time getting a tasting menu ever - we went on Monday and it was $65 per person. 4 courses, appetizers first, then pasta, then meat, and then dessert. I was definitely full after pasta, but managed to finish the rest of the food. Let me tell you, it was absolutely wonderful - beautiful serving, unusual combinations, new flavors and everything cooked to perfection. Yes, yes and yes, I will be definitely recommending this place to everyone.
The tips (service fee) are already included in the bill, which, I think, is a nice touch. Overall with the tasting menu and 2 cocktails from the Happy hour menu we spent $100 per person, which, I believe, was worth it.

Food, wine and service are just ok. I was not blown away by any one dish we had. We had a very large group who shared a little bit of almost everything on the menu. Nothing was bad about the experience but nothing was extraordinary either.

The tasting menu was really good. It was not cheap, but they seamlessly cater to any dietary types. Recommend!!

My wife and I ate here about a week ago and I've been meaning to leave a proper review. I had, without any exaggeration, one of the best meals I've had in years here, certainly the best I've had in Seattle. My wife and I are new to the area and one of the first things we noticed is that not all the restaurants are worth their price points, you can definitely over pay for an underwhelming meal in this city. Staple and Fancy is certainly on the pricier side for pasta but it absolutely worth it for the quality. I think they go toe to toe with several Michelin starred restaurants I've been to.
The burrata was phenomenal. Their pesto that accompanied the burrata was so flavorful and the grilled crostini added a wonderful roasted flavor to it all. Really one of the best burratas I've had. We also got the glazed carrots. These were also delicious. I felt like it was an intentional choice to only par cook them, I would have preferred them slightly softer, but the flavor was still incredible.
The mains were what really blew me away. I had gnocchi Bolognese and my wife had carbonara. Her carbonara was one of the only classically correct carbonaras I've ever had in a restaurant. It absolutely competes with some of the best pasta meals I've had in various regions of Italy. My gnocchi was beautifully cooked and obviously hand made. The Bolognese was tender and absolutely perfectly seasoned. I feel like a lot of restaurants shy away from seasoning well or end up over salting but I was extremely impressed with how perfectly peppered both my gnocchi and my wife's carbonara were. Admittedly, we completely over ate because the portion was quite generous and we'd already had two delicious starters.
We were there for my wife's birthday and they gave us a lemon sorbet with a candle in it after we had said we couldn't possibly order dessert. It was a very nice gesture that we greatly appreciated. Overall I was EXTREMELY impressed and I look forward to coming back.
Phenomenal experience on mother's day. Great food! Everything is very artisan and homemade
We had a lovely evening, the food was superb, the wait staff were great and the building is so unique! Thanks to all for making our daughter's birthday celebration extra special.
Absolutely excellent food, service, and atmosphere! We had the burrata, carbonara, and gnocchi ragu. All the food was fantastic, and my carbonara was as good as I've had in Rome. Our server, Katie, was so friendly and took extra care to help celebrate my birthday! We will definitely be back!
Order the “surprise” menu option. You will not be disappointed. Really. We are foodies and have already penciled in our next visit.
