Great atmosphere and presentation. The chef’s tasting menu has some great options, but only really the appetizers were worth it. Pastas were just okay, and the lamb ribeye was a little mealy… dessert wasn’t bad. Probably won’t return but was worth trying.

The food at Seattle Restaurant Week 2024 is amazing!
Had desserts. Meh. Their take on tiramisu and cheesecake. I would hire a new pastry chef, some things are not meant to be changed ?

We went with the Chefs tasting menu. And our total bill was $266/-. Which is obviously, extremely overpriced but that’s not the issue here. The overall food wasn’t even close to good. One exception: the cheesecake. It was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had.
But again, they only give one small slice of cheesecakes between two people (I mean, you gotta be kidding me!!! WE PAID $266/-. You CANNOT just give one plate between two people.)
Their main course - cauliflower with peanut sauce was subpar. The squash Ravioli was actually decent but again - one plate between two people.
Overall, bad experience with or without considering the price.

My boyfriend took me here to celebrate an award I won, and we had the four course chef's taster. This was the most delicious restaurant meal we've ever had. Every element of the meal was perfectly executed, the warm yet dimly lit space was incredibly comforting, and the staff were absolutely amazing. They also accommodated my partner's dietary requirements to a tee, so we had an incredibly pleasant meal without the risk of dying. We will absolutely be returning.
Dietary restrictions: They ask and acommodate for dietary restrictions to a tee.

Our anniversary meal here was a stellar choice. The chef’s tasting was innovative and delicious; creative but not pretentious. Everything was executed very well, from composition of dish, plating, timing, and taste! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal from start to finish.
The highlight of our experience was the service. Casual but very attentive. Everyone was so friendly but our server, Katelyn, was an absolute gem. We really appreciate how engaged and genial she was in making our time there special. Hope to visit again soon!

This place somewhat fills the missing hole of Sawyer for me. Enough said.
Food is very underwhelming. It’s like someone made it in a rush and under/over cooked things. Cocktails were delicious and pretty potent. Cucumber salad was great. Pastas were flowing with butter and cheese to make them edible.

They are so creative in getting around food allergies for the tasting course. Would highly recommend!
Dietary restrictions: I told them I was gluten free and couldn’t have chicken or egg and they worked around it easily

Visited for the second time after five years. Unfortunately the night we visited, both felt they added too much salt to few of their dishes and were almost unpalatably salty especially for some of amuses, a pasta, a main, and to our surprise, a desert. A bit disappointed. Also a service personnel fumbled our wine to wet my jacket. Mistakes happen and didn’t care much about it as I can just wash them, but, again a bit disappointed.

Lovely atmosphere! We went to celebrate a birthday and they really thoughtfully had a birthday card waiting at our table and our server treated us to champagne! We decided to order a la carte. To start we ordered the squash blossoms and focaccia, both were very tasty. For our entrees we got the gnocchi and the tagliatelle and both were so flavorful and delicious! We ordered the cheesecake for dessert and it was so rich and creamy. I would highly recommend Staple and Fancy, especially for birthday celebrations!

We like the food, drink and service at Staple & Fancy! The dry age ribeye, carrot soup, salmon sashimi (sorry I forgot the exact name) and fried oyster are our favorite. I have been there many times, and they changed menu often, so every time I could expect something special.
Parking: There are some free street parking, and a paid parking lot. Parking rate $4/h. When there is an event nearby, the rate will increase.

Staple & Fancy has a great menu, but truly shines with the chef’s tasting menu (always varying) and wine pairings. Every course came out delicious, with varied seasonal flavors and different options for those with food allergies.
