We thoroughly enjoyed our early dining experience prior to a concert at St. James Cathedral on a Friday evening. The menu options were varied so each one of the three of us got precisely what we hoped for: high quality, scrumptious selections, in a quiet atmosphere, in a timely but unhurried manner. The star of the night, however, was our server, Vanessa, who took her time to take care of us, build a pleasant, warm rapport and provided excellent recommendations based upon our individual preferences. Stella is fortunate to have such a capable and professional representative of an overall exceptionalexperience.

Honestly the best dining experience I’ve ever had! I’m not usually one for fancy restaurants but my girlfriend and I were in town and staying at the Hotel Sorrento so I thought it would be fun to try. I ordered a specialty cocktail, I can’t remember what it was called but it was so pretty and delicious I savored it one tiny sip at a time through my whole meal.I have a weird food sensitivity that is difficult to explain and the waiter recognized it right away as an issue with nightshades and checked with the kitchen to make sure the dish I chose wouldn’t have any. I ordered the chicken with green beans and squash, the name of the dish is French on the menu and I don’t speak French so please excuse my not remembering the exact description (I had to look it up on my phone). The chicken looked like it had some sort of glaze and was so juicy and delicious and flavorful. The squash was expertly prepared and melted in my mouth, sweet and salty and savory but not overwhelming. I savored this one little bite at a time as well and had fun making little bites to share with my girlfriend who was also enjoying her meal. The green beans were also delicious, I love green beans and order them often and these were exceptional.I will say the restaurant was quite loud for me but I have a lot of sensory issues and would bring earplugs or something similar in the future but I don’t think it would be too much for the average person to enjoy. Part way through the meal the music on the speakers turned off and a musician began performing live on the piano. They really do an excellent job preserving the romantic atmosphere that I imagine was present in the 1920s closer to the era the Hotel was built. The furniture and paintings on the walls complimented the round shape of the room and detailed wood paneling lining the walls, with big armchairs near the large fireplace. Some times on the rare occasions I eat some where on the more expensive side (expensive to me anyway) it is good but doesn’t quite justify the price. I did not feel that way at all for this meal. If you can save up for a once in a lifetime dining experience or if you like spending a lot on restaurants regularly, I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Absolutely worth it!Dietary restrictions: I have a sensitivity to nightshades and they understood and were graciously accommodating.

Best dinner out in a long time. The Muscovy duck and all things on the plate were delicious as was the pork chop. Drinks good and sitting in the bar area next to the cozy fireplace makes for a special dinner out. Service very friendly with a lot of positive energy. Look forward to our next visit.

Sorrento used to be such a vibe for so many years, shame. Service at Stella again was so strange, critical, and antisocial. Just not worth it or acceptable with The Hideout and L’Oursin minutes away. My partner and I definitely won’t return ?

We always have a great meal and friendly service at Stella. Tonight I chose the duck. It was excellent. The Pumpkin Spice Panna Cotta was also wonderful.

Tony was great. He was helpful, attentive, thoughtful, and kind despite being obviously busy, making our celebration more enjoyable. We will return to Stella for the excellent service (hopefully everyone who works there serves with Tony's skill and personality) and great food. Thank you.

The restaurant couldn't find our OpenTable reservation, but they were able to seat us in the Fireside Room and not in the main dining room. The tables were a bit high, but we were next to the fireplace and the atmosphere was nice. We shared the Caesar Salad - it was fine, but I expect more garlic and anchovy flavor and not a thick mayonnaise-like dressing. So, I was a little disappointed. The bread and olives we had with our cocktails were good. We also shared the bucatini pasta and that was good - not spectacular and not served really very hot. The service was friendly.

We love staying in the Hotel Sorrento, enjoying drinks by the fire and dinner at Stella. I once had the best Bolognese pasta. This time we had the incredible spinach artichoke dip with the potato bread (could've stopped there). The duck was not as melt in your mouth as I would've hoped, but it had a wonderful pomegranite sauce and potatoes au gratin. Everyone is super nice. It feels old world and relaxing.

My girlfriends and I went for brunch on a Sunday. They have jazz brunch on Sundays outside in the courtyard. Such a beautiful space. Our server was great with recommendations for drinks and food. Overall, we had a great time. Food was good, not very exciting but decent. Drinks were tasty. Great place to take out of town visitors for a unique brunch.

Food was good but service was not. Our server was nowhere to be found for long periods of time. One drink took 15 minutes to arrive. The appetizer came out about 5 minutes before the entrees. Piano player was enjoyable.

We had very attentive staff. The olives and bread along with a glass of wine for him and a martini for me were excellent. Then we got redrew salads thinking they were more a side but they were very large portions. I had Caesar and he had arugula. Nicely prepared. We were so full we couldn't get dessert.
