Excellent Place and atmosphere... variety of high quality drinks and good prices!!
Excellent people!!
Cool environment and incredible beer!
Beerhall is spacious, drinks are tasty, and staff are friendly! This is a great venue to host events and bring friends and families together. I want to give a big shout out to the Event Sales manager, Megan, for her accommodations to one of my bigger events. Long story short, there was a mishap and miscommunication on my end that could have ended disastrously until Megan stepped in and assisted. It is this kind of service that I will definitely do business with this brewery again. Thank you!
Big open brewery venue. You can bring in food or have it ordered in. Children are welcome. Some non-alcoholic options available.
One of the best breweries I’ve been to. I tried their citra ipa and I loved it super clean. Very professional and polite customer service.

I stopped in for a quick beer on my way to the airport. What a fantastic bar. It’s incredibly spacious, cool interior with friendly staff and a really good hefeweizen. The inclusive toilets have a sign saying “you are in the right place” which is a lovely positive affirmation. Even the urinals are in individual couples.
I miss Optimism...
Overall, not terrible, but the changes arent... great. Beer is fine and the space is still pretty awesome (albeit now with "Stoup"... EVERYWHERE - to a distracting extent).
Very frustrated to see that buying a beer signed me up for their mailing list... At least unsubscribing works...
Came for the bathroom, stayed for the beer lol
Why does this place smell like a garbage can full of dog poop on a hot summer day?
The beer is good. The smell is awful (and it smelled like this the last time I was here back in November).
The beer is good..

You want me to tip up to $2 for what takes less than 60 seconds? Bring back Optimism culture. Pay your employees a living wage Stoup.
Great beer, huge location!
It’s kind of a cheap knockoff of Optimism. They haven’t done anything to change the space, the staff felt unwarm and grouchy, and the beer was the same price except this time they want a tip with it. I remember when this was a vibrant and welcoming space. Tonight was a Friday and we were one of 2 tables in the entire place. Sad to see it go this way.
I am so thrilled that Stoup has taken over the Optimism space! I used to occasionally go to Optimism only for the great space and for it being one of the only breweries in Capitol Hill. In terms of their beer, Optimism was truly phoning it in, and I believe they survived for so long solely off of the merits of their location. On the other hand, Stoup has excellent beer, and I’ve been making the trek to Ballard to drink their beer for years. They are a welcome addition to Capitol Hill. The staff remains friendly and the atmosphere is more lively than ever. I see some reviews criticizing them for having a different tipping policy than Optimism, which is truly a bizarre criticism considering they’re entirely different businesses. I’ll happily keep coming back to Stoup!
We hosted our Welcome party for our wedding guests at Stoup on a Friday night and it was so fun! We had a corner reserved for us and guests had unlimited access to everything on tap. Shout out to other local businesses Big Mario's pizza and Sodam Korean fried chicken - they went great with the delicious beer!
