No better place to sip on a fancy beer and play a game of chess. Every neighborhood worth its salt has got to have a bar just like this!

If you are passing by, look through the window, and decide to walk in, you'll get exactly what you're looking for. If you decide to keep walking, you won't be missing much. This place is like Moe's Tavern, except with a good beer selection. There's no food, but you can bring some in.Theres some board games to play - classic (chess and go), or party games (say anything, pictionary, etc). Or, you can chat with friends and strangers, or read something. The large front windows make you feel like you're never too far from the street and makes for good people watching.

I love this bar. The beer is well curated, is always rotating into new stuff and the owner is one of the most unassuming nice guys you'll find. Board games and other interesting stuff lines the walls and the ambience is quiet enough to enjoy conversation.

Really great selection of Belgian and other European beers. Not too much on draft but bottles are fantastic. Atmosphere is very dive-y, which wasn't my cup of tea, but service was very friendly and knowledgeable and again, excellent bottle selection.

Came into the Stumbling Monk on a Saturday night and pulled up a few stools at the bar. They had 5 beers on draft and wide variety of bottles. They specialize in Belgian beers. I had the St. Bernardus and it was delicious. This is a great bar to sit down and have a conversation with friends at. They don't play loud music, they just have a radio player playing music from a local station. It's awesome and feels like home.We had a fantastic time and I hope I come back again. The bartender was super nice and knowledgeable.

Excellent selection of Belgian beers. Comfy dive bar vibes. If you're looking for something down to earth, you've come to the right place. Board games are included!

the ole watering hole is open!good lord, has it been a toughie catching a local dive open as speckle and drake closed a few months back. i’m relieved it’s open! i felt lucky to get a chance and enjoy a cider in the neighborhood’s corner. i rejoiced from across the room as a friendly bunch shared laughs and kindred spirit.

Excellent selection of Belgians, the vibe is immaculate and perfect and divey, and amazing humans work here. If you know your Belgian beers, you will not be disappointed.

A cool lowkey bar in Cap Hill that specializes in Belgian beers. The bar is a little divey but has a cool and chill ambiance with fun decor (lamps on the booth tables) and board games.

I have been coming here since I moved to Seattle in '98. To me this is one of the places that IS Seattle. Great beer, a wonderful laid back vibe and just a good place.
