Johnny was an incredible sushi chef! He was very personable, kind, and funny throughout my time at Sugo. He was a great conversationalist. The waiters were very attentive in bringing drinks and appetizers, particularly Jorge. Awesome place, would highly recommend!

Sugo put a spin on your typical hand roll and made it extra tasty with their creativity. Also loved the appetizers, it was my first time trying a miso soup shooter! The drinks were also phenomenal, def recommend the lychee martini & do you dig me. The host, Sharon, was also super friendly and welcoming. This was a 11/10 experience and I will definitely be coming back.

We had an awesome happy hour dinner here on a recent trip to Seattle. Got the spicy tuna, spicy scallop, salmon, crispy shrimp, and truffle avocado hand rolls, and they were all fantastic (and only $4 each!). These are not the hand rolls you might see at traditional sushi bars (i.e., the ones that are shaped like ice cream cones) -- they're more like mini tacos, and the nori comes sheathed in little compostable cellophane-like sleeves that preserve their crispiness until you slide them off to eat.
We also got the chicken tatsu taage, which are like honey BBQ nuggets -- a little on the dry side, but still with good flavor (not quite the same as karaage, with not as much batter). The calamari furai (fried calamari) was also tasty, but bear in mind it's only the tentacles (in case that's not your preference).
Drinks were awesome, and did not skimp on the alcohol! The lychee martini is a production in itself -- the waitress creates a big bubble over the glass that contains smoke, which eventually pops, letting the smoke spill over like it's some sort of mad scientist's creation. The Hi B Vitamin C had great flavor, and was more like a refreshing summer drink. The Melona Poptail was my favorite, since it comes with a melon popsicle dipped into the drink!
There are two sections of the restaurant, as far as I understand. The main part is a rectangular bar with the sushi chefs in the middle -- this was too busy when we were there, with a wait of at least 40 minutes or so. But the separate bar area (with about 9 tables) had plenty of seating -- not quite as socially hopping, but still very pleasant for a dinner for two. Service was very friendly and efficient.
I would highly recommend this place, especially if you're a sushi fan. We'll definitely come back the next time we visit!

A long fall from the top. Last time I was here, this was 5 stars across the board. This time the place was sloppy, service was bad, but food was great. I sat for 15 minutes watching our waitress dance with people in the lobby while I waited for another drink. Ended up leaving.

Was just here recently and the four of us really enjoyed our experience. The food was amazing as well as Clayton who was making most of our sushi. We sat at the back bar and He was super friendly and we are most definitely going to be back. The front of the house staff was great as well and service was spectacular.

SO damn good! I love a hand roll, they make them right in front of you here. The seafood is all super fresh and they even had veggie options available. DO NOT overlook the green bean tempura roll, it's the best one on the menu hands down.
Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian hand roll options that were all delicious.

I went to Sugo on Tuesday, the 26th, for a dinner date at 5pm. The waiter was nice, and I was satisfied with his service. The chef was also kind, and we really loved the hand rolls. However, the only issue was that while we were still eating, another waitress came over and made us pay in the middle of our meal. She wasn’t even our assigned waitress, and I hadn’t indicated that I wanted to pay at that time.

Delicious hand rolls. Highly recommend the crispy shrimp, sea scallops and snow crab rolls. The calamari is also very good. The mixed drinks were a little on the sweet side but we really enjoyed the house sake.

Love the fresh ingredients—uni, crab, wagyu, and more! It's a great place to enjoy high-quality sushi without spending too much time on sushi set.

We had lunch here with our nine year old kids at lunch. (It is not kid friendly in the evenings.) It was an amazing experience at their sushi bar. The chefs and servers were wonderful and explained things in detail so our kids knew what they were ordering. Cocktails for spouse and I were excellent. I had the lychee martini with the bubble, which was fun and tasty. We will be back!

We randomly found Sugo near Pike Place on a trip to Seattle. We enjoyed it so much that we came back the next day when the rest of our group arrived in Seattle. The food and service were phenomenal. We will go again on our next trip.

Got a gift card to come here. The food and service is really good. The cons include: awkward check in process, limited drink menu with not having red or white wine, hard to find parking, being extremely close to other people (able to listen to the 4 people on both side having private conversations), not having a back to the chair to hang your coat, etc. The value of the food is good & the chefs / preparers know their stuff. If you like raw fish, then this place is for you. We left stuffed and had a good time, but probably won’t be returning.
Edit:
- Try the snow crab roll.
- I do now remember that I felt judged when I decided to not order a drink after they told me there was no wine. I guess the waitress doesn’t realize some people don’t want sake or a sugary instagramable drink. Note This was after we placed a menu card of >$100 of food items for two people.
