Having spent a couple weeks in Seattle I walked by this place a few times and was excited to try. Arrived a few minutes early for my reservation and waited a few minutes past the hour to be seated.

I ordered a few hand rolls and a sake flight. The sake was great. The rolls were mixed. The hamachi was perfectly fresh. The blue fin belly was at a high price point, but disappointed and was not as fresh as I'd expect given the premium.

I would have gladly eaten more, but the chef left the bar for a break and the servers focused more in turning over the bar seats from folks that had left than checking in on anyone sitting at the bar still. That's despite there not being anyone waiting at the time. So, I eventually flagged one of them down and left with a $80 bill and headed elsewhere for more to eat and drink.

Definitely has potential, but misfired on attentive service and overpriced premium rolls for the quality. The service was super friendly, but perhaps understaffed. Atmosphere was a little dull too other than the nice location and foot traffic outside.

Spicy tuna definitely has a kick to it and is a favorite of mine. The otoro tasted very fishy and would not recommend to get from here. Unagi was very well done as was the soft shell crab. Would go again during happy hour if I can

Excellent Happy Hour! Fresh sushi, the Lychee Martini is delicious and our waitress was so fun using a smoke gun to add a fabulous bubble! Entertaining for the entire bar.

This was the best sushi I’ve ever had! It was really neat being able to watch them make it right in front of you, and the staff was super nice.

One of the best meals I’ve had in recent memory. Every bite was unique and packed with flavor. You can tell the fish is fresh and intentionally sourced. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with my 18-month old.

My friends and I had a fantastic dinner here. The chicken karaage was juicy and piping hot. The hand rolls were varied and delicious. The lychee martini was a lot of fun, and our waiter was kind enough to make multiple bubbles while we took videos and squealed like children, haha.

A really great place for some delicious hand rolls. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hand rolls can get a little messy if one is not careful. I imagine this place can get quite busy, so arriving outside of busy hours would ensure quick service! The house cured ikura is excellent!

Solid menu and top notch service. A couple things that would make this experience a little better is using real wasabi and lightly brushing every piece of nigiri with soy sauce. Besides that, the fish was amazing and perfectly prepared. The sushi chef was efficient and meticulously prepared the rolls. The servers were always around when I needed to update my order. Honestly, a great experience. Coming from New York City, my sushi expectations are higher than usual so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and rate this a solid 4/5. Impressed with the Seattle crowd on a Sunday night as well.

We popped in today for a birthday lunch and the service was fantastic. I was expecting casual fare but instead received 5 star service. We had delicious hand rolls and was thrilled to be served a complimentary roll as well as sparkling drink and a little mochi dessert on the house. It was such a nice personalized touch to our meal, Im from out of town but I would definitely come back time and time again!

Had the Omakase with Chef Han last Thursday and it was amazing; $95 price point easily competes with most places that are $180 and above

My husband and I ate here for the second time tonight. our first experience was fun, but tonight was pretty dark. First, the guy making the hand rolls seems like a prisoner?? It was uncomfortable being served by someone who so clearly hates being there. we had a late dinner so we were very aware we were closing the place down at 9 on a tuesday. the host was coming in and out of the room throughout our meal complaining about her job and back pain. then, they ran out of rice. We started getting rolls with a few pieces of rice and a lot of fish, which is a fair replacement but not really what we were going for. they forgot one of our rolls - I just decided to make sure we weren’t charged for it.. I was kind of relieved not to get more nori and fish with no rice. all of this on top of the lights being all the way up with flies flying around the whole meal was enough to guarantee we never come back.

Strange experience at Sugo. My husband and I were really looking forward to dinner here after all the hype of their opening. Unfortunately everything was underwhelming. No one greeted us when we walked in and the hostess stand had Amazon boxes all over it. We waited over 20 minutes to be seated after our reservation time. After we were seated we could over hear multiple conversations with staff complaining about how they were busier than they expected, about multiple parties of patrons who had just left, and the staff generally did not seem to get along with each other (lots of eye rolling and bickering). Overall it was a very unprofessional and we felt almost like an inconvenience being there despite the fact that we spent about $400. I would not recommend Sugo to anyone.
