The food quality has notably declined. The fried chicken, once a favorite, was dry and flavorless today.

Absolutely amazing. Drove over 1900 miles. Would do it again in a heartbeat. If you are west of the Mississippi, it’s worth the drive.

Fried chicken was amazing, appetizer of potato mochi with cheese was delicious, atmosphere matched the feel of what an izakaya should be. We got the "curry of life" special, was far too potent... Almost seemed like the broth was made from the stock concentrate with no dilution. Sake was enjoyable, and the fried chicken was great. Not sure if I recommend.

I tried to get to this restaurant 5 times and it never worked because I always forgot my ID, lol. Finally, yesterday, I got in, and to be honest, the chicken was good in taste, but nothing special. Also, the stools were very uncomfortable to sit on. Prices are very high for that portion. The most impressive thing for me was the design and friendly staff.

basic food, nothing crazy special but definitely a good place to talk with friends and hang if you like the japanese aesthetic. If you don’t, then I do not recommend. Overall still good.

Terrible fried chicken. It bills itself as karaage; it's not. Karaage is moist and flavorful. What we were served was the driest, most flavorless excuse for fried chicken I've ever had. It was awful. Based on the texture and how quickly the food came after ordering, I can only assume it was sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. As far as atmosphere - not good enough to make up for the terrible food. There' a lot of pop culture references and images on the walls and anime playing on the TVs. Music was too loud, though. I shouldn't have to shout in order to have a conversion with the person sitting next to me. Honestly, I don't know why anyone would come here. It's such a shame cause Nakamura *can* cook and run a good restaurant (e.g., Adana), but Taku is just such a half-thought through attempt at jumping on the "fried chicken and Japanese stuff" bandwagon.

Very welcoming environment with a self-order process! Service was quick, spicy chicken teriyaki was cooked to perfection. Perfectly crispy, well seasoned, and great on spice.Fries were very crispy too, but nothing special about them. I wish I tried their Furikake Fries.I feel that for the price, that the dish could have been slightly bigger. However, the flavors were still worth the price. Will certainly come again and try their cocktails.

paid $17 for three or four small pieces of fried chicken that was dry, extra dry because of the curry powder, and didn’t even come with a sauce! we had to pay extra for a tiny pot of sauce. brussel sprouts were good

Fun environment and good food! Keep in mind you might have trouble finding seating if your party is over 5 people.

Casual and trendy atmosphere with fantastic food and high-quality service! This is a 21+ restaurant, and they’ll check your ID upon entry. The cocktail selection is very creative, and one even comes with a Pokémon card for those inclined to sweeter drinks and nostalgia! The food is the best part of the experience, and it’s impossible to go wrong with any item. The Thicc Nugs are amazing, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! I had Spicy Teriyaki sauce, which had a nice heat but not at all unbearable. The furikake fries are a great twist on the classic side. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts are a textural and flavorful heaven! Above all, I highly recommend the Potato Mochi! If you love potatoes, you’ll never have one like this. Full of savory flavor, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, this will be the most unique bite you have here. On top of the amazing food and drinks, the service leaves nothing to be desired. Everyone is so nice and happy to explain the menu or provide guidance on favorites to order. Highly recommend sitting at the bar if you like to watch chefs cook and plate dishes. You may even catch Chef Shota behind the line or otherwise checking in on operations!

The fried chicken was great by itself, but should not be used in oyakudon. The breading melted into the rice and made the dish disgusting.
