Positives: good, authentic food. The hummus is some of the best I have tasted. Excellent ambience.
Negatives: staff are often hurried. Literally threw a food item onto our table. In some cultures, this is offensive to an extreme (animals are thrown their food). Medium rare turned out to be rare (tasty but to not everyone's taste). Very expensive but that seems to be on par for Seattle.

The place itself was nice, and the food was okay — not great considering the price. One major downside: they automatically added an 18% gratuity because we were a group of six or more, even though we were three separate families, ordered and paid separately. We were only sitting together. That policy felt unfair and left a bad impression. Just a heads-up for others.

Dining at Tanoor in Seattle was a thoroughly gratifying experience. The cuisine was artfully crafted, rich in flavor, and elegantly presented. Service was both courteous and efficient, reflecting a commendable attention to detail. The ambiance exuded warmth and sophistication, creating a setting conducive to both conversation and comfort. Overall, a distinguished establishment that merits revisiting. Highly recommended!

10/10! Was so impressed with the food and portion sizes - had lots of leftovers to take home and enjoy later. Our server Alex was the best waiter we’ve had in ages; give this guy a raise. Nice interior & overall vibe. Will be back for sure.

The 5 Mezze deal is the way to go. The bread they bake fresh is too goood! My only complaint was that the spinach fatayir was too sour for our table's taste.

Edit - Took off another star as it has happened again a few more times with takeout. Despite reiterating multiple times that I have a gluten allergy please do not include a gluten pita with my takeout, they continue to do it every time. Dine in experience has also been worse as I've had times where they forgot my food and brought out the rest of the party's food, or needed reminders what we ordered again.
While my dine in experiences at Tanoor have been good, my takeout experiences have not.
Every time I’ve gotten takeout, despite me telling them to note Celiac and not to add any pitas, a pita has been added every time. Last time I even told the waitress that this has happened before and would appreciate if they remember not to add a regular pita to my gluten free food. She was half listening and assured me the food will be gluten free. When I get my food, there is yet again a pita added. No apology provided when I asked them to remove the pita due to allergies.
Not sure how confident I feel with their care and caution preparing food in the kitchen - where I can’t see - for those with allergies when I can see a clear lack of care when they quickly add a pita on autopilot mode before handing the bag to me.
Based on other reviews, seems the owner has Celiac. Would definitely not expect such a lack of care and awareness from the staff in that case.
We ordered a variety of food and everything had such amazing flavor. The toum was our favorite part of the meal. It really took the dishes to the next level. We will be back to try more on the menu.

Be prepared to wait 45 minutes past the estimated pick up time for your order… and not because it’s busy (restaurant is near empty).

Great food and excellent service. Slow down on the bread or you’ll be to full to eat the main meal!

Grew up eating Lebanese food and this is the closest I got in Seattle to my Teta’s kitchen. I especially like the hummus / batataharra, but you can’t really go wrong anywhere on the menu.
The pita bread is excellent as well. They will give you extra pita bread to take home after your meal if you ask, take advantage of this and keep them sealed / refrigerate as soon as possible, they’ll keep for up to 2 full days
LISTEN TO THE STAFF’S SUGGESTIONS ON PORTION SIZE, the share plates are larger than you think.
Service goes above-and-beyond and exemplifies middle-eastern hospitality. My first time here, I thought the hummus could use a bit more lemon and mentioned this to my wife across the table (NOT to the staff - I wasn’t going to make a big deal out of this, it was still good) Nevertheless, a server dropped off a half-lemon out of nowhere 5 minutes later without saying anything!
I was mortified… but does go to show how responsive staff is a they’ll give you what you want even if you don’t ask for it
