Sangria is insanely good, the texture of the arepa is worth obsessing over, and our server (the owner maybe?) was so nice, personable, knowledgeable, and EFFICIENT, running around constantly.

The prices are really reasonable, and everything is amazing. Get a reservation, or get here before it fills up, it's a small space! We want to come back here so many more times, if not for the vermouth selection alone.

Have you ever walked into a restaurant and felt like you were being welcomed home? This is immediately how Diego and his lovely staff approach their guests, with the attention and love of a family member. Enjoy the menu, take your time and let the Iberian and Pan-Latin flavors take over. You will not be disappointed or leave hungry!

Staying nearby for one night in early September. We picked Tapas Angel based on positive reviews. It did not disappoint. Diego welcomed us warmly and helped with wine options. We discussed the origin stories of several of the items on the menu. Everything was excellent and the atmosphere was great too.

Tapas Anel provided a fantastic meal for our College reunion (WSU - we all met in 1972). The event was held two doors down at Bacovino Wine Tasting room. The two businesses coordinated the event with ease. Diego at Tapas Angel loves his food and loves sharing about the food with his customers. He was awesome to work with, and I highly recommend Tapas Angel for a night out, of for catering an event

This place is amazing!! Atmosphere and ambient is very great! I must say I had the best sangrias here, better than what I had in Spain and Portugal! The owner Diego is also very friendly and fun to talk with!

Wow! Tapas Angel is a top notch Iberian restaurant in Pioneer Square with Latin American influences. Small and cozy with amazing food and drinks. The service is impeccable! Diego is incredibly inviting and friendly and makes you feel at home in his beautiful restaurant. He’s very knowledgeable about wine, vermouth and sherry and everything on the menu. We ordered the spinach salad with blueberry vinaigrette, the wild mushroom empanada and the pork empanada, prawns in a buttery sherry sauce, and manchego cheese with mānuka honey for dessert. All delicious. Their house made mojo verde and mojo picón are divine as well! Highly recommend the fried plantains and the pan seared octopus. An absolute must try if visiting downtown Seattle.

My wife and I were in town for the night and picked this place for dinner based on some of the reviews online.

The restaurant and Diego exceeded those expectations.

Diego was an exceptional host, welcoming us to the restaurant as if we were guests at his home. He walked us through the food and drink menus with great detail and attention.

We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was absolutely delicious with each dish having an amazing mix of flavors.

We had sweet fried plantains, pork empanada, octopus, crispy pork belly and corn based arepa. Each dish came with house made sauces specifically for those dishes that complemented them exceptionally.

Their house sangria was also delicious as was the Cuban old fashioned.

Highly recommend you visit Diego and experience his passion for food. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Seattle. Thank you!

Diego effusively greeted us at the door and sat us at the bar. This is a charming hole in the wall that Anthony Bourdain would’ve loved. The spinach empanada was the best empanada I’ve had in my entire life and I’ve been around for a while :-) All of the dishes are delicious and if I could give this place six stars I would. Next time we’re in Seattle I can’t wait to come back!

The food/drinks took a minute to get to us, but the server (I think his name was Diego, but I'm not entirely sure) was amazing. He was the only server and hauled butt to make sure everyone in the restaurant was well fed and happy. One thing that I loved about him was that he knew the menu like the back of his hand and he gave suggestions on how to eat the food. If I could give a higher rating, I would give a 100/10

We came in just to have a quick drink, but ended up having an amazing experience with the owner, Diego. Diego shared his passion and love for food, drink and the history behind his menu. He also introduced me to a great Vermouth selection in beautifully crafted and unique cocktails. He takes pride in his food, drinks, employees and Seattle! Stop by for a unique cocktail and the best empanada you’ll ever have.
