A small, quaint spot in cap hill with a cool vibe. It is a very popular place and there were many people waiting outside to get a table. We started with the spring rolls and side Lao sausage. Rolls were good with a nice dipping sauce and the sausage was spicy with tons of flavor. We also shared chicken Laap, a lettuce wrap dish. It was disappointing. The Phad Lao with chicken was really good with yummy rice noddles, cabbage in a fish sauce. The Jaew Tomato side sauce was so good. Wine list is small but nice options and they also have full bar for cocktails. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful.

I can only speak to my food delivery through Grubhub (my order was fulfilled quickly), but the burger was incredible! Perfect balance of flavor. I understand that the papaya salad is “made funky” per their menu. I love papaya salad and decided to try. It definitely is a little more fish sauce-y which generally I don’t mind because I like fish sauce, but it does lose that sweetness I love in a more “traditional” papaya salad. I’m sure many will enjoy it, though.

Great, friendly service. Got the burger and it didn’t disappoint. Loved the provolone cheese and the pickled red onions. Refreshing to get a smash burger that’s doing something a little different.

How have I not reviewed this place already? Lao burger is best burger. The other food is great (small menu is my only quibble). Atmosphere is charming, staff is attentive, accommodating, and unpretentious (shout out to Roman, it was my birthday and you nailed it.)
Recommended dishes: Lao Burger, Phad Lao with Tofu
taurus ox is a very good restaurant. all the food is really excellent but slightly expensive. not overpriced because they give you good portions. there is this one dish that was really good it was rice, and pork, and this veggie fritter that i tried to recreate at home and failed completely. their lao burger is also so amazing, i either get the pork dish or the burger whenever i go there. i would recommend the food to anyone in the area!

We had the Laos beef jerky and the pork belly dish. Really delicious. We also enjoyed the ube sticky bun which I would recommend trying as it was a unique take on a sticky bun and not too sweet. The atmosphere was nice as well.

Another example of a Seattle restaurant that has raised prices so much that it's unaffordable. $21 for a Phad Lao with tofu which used to be ~$15. Sad to see the fall off, loved this place.

The food is just okay. I'm surprised this place has high reviews. The sticky rice I got with my meal was cold, dry, and hardened. Almost like last night's leftovers.
Bad service. Was ignored for a few minutes when I walked in. I would say more but I will just leave it at that.
I'm glad that the people who came right after me were welcomed enthusiastically though!

Only because they didn’t use rice vermicelli noodles but rice noodles in the khao poon which I believe in Laos we call Mee Kati not khao poon.
Nice food but service was lacking
