Tried the dosa and masala puri and it was really good. Would visit again to try out other items.
I absolutely love this farmers market, and it’s always a pleasure to see this stall here! The food is genuinely delicious, and it’s clear a lot of care goes into the preparation. I personally missed having sambar with the dosa — but I understand they’re showcasing a specific regional style of serving dosa, which is cool in its own right.
That said, I did have two main issues. First, the long queue and wait time. If you’re planning to spend just a couple of hours at the market, a big chunk of it could easily go into waiting at this one stall, making it harder to enjoy the rest of the market. Second, the food felt significantly overpriced. While I appreciate the quality ingredients and small-batch approach, you can get a more complete dosa experience — with multiple chutneys, sambar, variety, quantity and dine-in comfort — at other spots for much better value.
All in all, it’s a tasty treat if you’re already at the market and in the mood to splurge a bit — just be prepared for a wait and a lighter plate.
The quality of ingredients shines through and makes the long wait justifiable. The ghee podi dosa is really good. You won’t miss the sambhar.
Really great food and owners! We got the dosa batter too since the dosas were so soft
Long line, sort of microwave couscous vibes on the chicken biryani. I like microwave couscous, though. $25, so pretty expensive, after tip.
Love their dosas and their idlis!! I am a sambar snob and I rate their sambar amazing!! There's always a long line in the Ballard's farmers market for this stall but it does move quickly.
I've tried their biryani at SLU and I loved it too. Its just its a bit early in the day for me to have biryani, so I prefer their tiffins.
Standing in the line, sipping tea and people watching while waiting for dosas has become a habit now ??♀️?❤️

Masala dosai was average with no sambar and it’s expensive. Kesari baath was very bad.

$17 for a podi dosa with just a bland green chutney and no sambar seems very bad. I also saw one of the workers take some food and put it in their mouth and use the same hand to serve dosas with the same glove on. ?

I went to try this spot because of the massive instagram hype. The badam milk was good. There is a huge queue and dosa is fine. But they don’t give sambar with dosa, which almost feels like a crime to any south Indian. I don’t think it’s worth the drive, looking a parking spot and waiting in an endless queue to eat dosa without sambar for $16. I would rather eat at Jayam or MTR in Bellevue.
Also they don’t sell Donne biriyani in this location and it’s sold only at SLU. And the SLU one is closed for August. This spot is a massive disappointed.

This is combined review for this food truck in 2 different farmers market; SLU and Ballard.
I absolutely loved the Ballard farmers market pop up. I ordered Masala dosa and kesar badaam milk (Saffron almond milk) and both the options were delicious and worth the hype. Please visit them at this location. The management at this location was quick and efficient.
The SLU pop up was disappointing. There was no dosa on the menu. I ended up ordered Idli and chicken biryani. My chicken biryani had no chicken and lacked good favor (including salt). I wouldn’t recommend going to this location.
Vegetarian options: They also have options to cater to lactose intolerant population.

The Bangalore Kitchen at the Ballard Farmers Market offers an authentic South Indian culinary experience. The masala dosa and plain dosa were both great, showcasing the perfect blend of crispiness and flavor. The masala dosa had a well-spiced, flavorful potato filling.
The option of chutney or sambar would be a good addition. Also, a butter plain dosa would be nice to add to the menu.
The mango lemonade was lacking any lemonade flavor for me. Tasted more like a watered down mango juice.
Vegetarian options: Many veg options with a large variety

I tried the butter masala dosa and it was great! The chutney is also very flavorful and goes well with the dosa and masala. I do enjoy having sambar with my dosa so I wish there was an option to add sambar. It is a little expensive, but delicious, and it’s amazing that you can get a fresh dosa at a farmers market!

On Sunday, May 26th, 2024, a vendor (Ayako & Family) at the Ballard Farmers Market displayed a sign with the slogan "From the River to the Sea," which is well-known to be an antisemitic slogan. There are many legitimate ways to express support for Palestinians or opposition to the war in Gaza, but overt antisemitism isn't one of them. In a free society, people have a right to express ugly viewpoints, but doing so is not free of societal consequences, and should not be tolerated under the auspices of a nonprofit organization with a stated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. I'm asking the leadership of the Seattle Farmers Market Association to review this situation and take appropriate action to ensure antisemitism is not tolerated at your events. An incident report has been filed with the Anti-Defamation League.
