The executive decision was made to shortcut production time by shunting warm bread into plastic bags. All the loaves mold within 3 days now, so unless you're going to consume an entire loaf in 2 days caveat emptor This wasn't an issue when their products were packaged in paper. Their signature loaf Pan du George is inconsistent, sometimes it's dense, other times it's full of spongy holes and a real mess. Once upon a tme the Essential Baking Company had integrity and I was a loyal customer. Their Wallingford Cafe, ( permanently closed) was affordable and served wonderful, salads, sandwiches, goodies and coffee.
This company is so tweaked by corporate culture now you can't even find a comprehensive list of products offered. Sad.

I would like to express my gratitude to you for what you do. I really like the bread you bake - Pain DU George. It is very tasty! It is good when there are those who make quality products and maintain the brand, they are like a standard for other manufacturers. And this is about The Essential Baking Company.

Not only is it wonderful to have freshly baked sourdough at the ready, their customer service is exemplary. I had an issue with some loaves that I had purchased at Costco, and after contacting them, they sent me back a very nice letter and a replacement item.

I purchased my first bread product from The Essential Baking Company at my local grocery store last year. I thought it looked good, so I tried the Multigrain Bread. The flavor and texture straight out of the bag or toasted, and the wonderful aroma when toasted (scents the entire kitchen), these are the reasons I continue to purchase only this bread. Please never change the recipe!!

Checked in 0900 they said 45mins still waiting to get loaded.

Love their products, haven't tasted any that we didn't like. Just ordered some pizza crusts online Sunday night and had them at our house in Central Oregon by Tuesday afternoon. Very impressive turnaround and this definitely won't be our last order.
