Been here a few times because I work close. Coffee is fine, nothing special. The problem is the owner. Dismissive and rude. I asked him what he recommended the first time I was there and he said I should read the menu. I watched him roll his eyes after talking to his cashier. Generally seems like a grump which is a shame because it doesn't foster welcoming environment. Go somewhere else.

Great hemp latte. I was able to use my own mug, which I really appreciated. Super nice dude slinging great drinks.

The frontside grind is a great little place to get coffee. It is next to the Boulevard Park Thriftway, which is accessible via Des Moines Memorial Drive. This is typically where I get my espresso when I need a cup to get me through the afternoon. I'm not sure which coffee source they use, but the discussion is always pleasant and the coffee is always good. For being the only skateboarders in the area, bonus points.

Friends don't let friend drink Starbucks. The best local coffee and always friendly
This place has great coffee.
Great lattes at very reasonable prices.
I really like the coffee here but there is always a huge line of women waiting to get drinks with their dogs. Last time I overheard them talking about the owner’s “huge bulge.” He’s a friendly guy, but I didn’t care to look. It’s all the female customers seem to chat about while they sip their mochas.
