The J & M is an institution in a city lacking everyman institutions - it is worth a visit if only to soak up some of the spirits that haunt the walls - you can feel a century of both good and questionable characters within these confines. The waitstaff is always enjoyable and the food a cut above “bar food”.I have been here more than hundred times. Seriously, I did the math:).
We visited from out of town and had a blast!
Awesome place had a great time at the Michael Winslow show
Local dive with live music most nights. 2nd best wings downtown.
This bar in the heart of down town Seattle. Great customer service. They treat every body equal. No races feeling. Drinks and food where great.
I love this place and have always loved this place (for 30+ years)
Terrible service! We waited over 40 minutes for a soda and a beer ! One of us received our food 20 minutes before the other. Just awful. It was a game day but Seattle restaurants should be more prepared. Will not go again.
This place is amazing awesome customer service the bar tender Juan was amazing as well as Chrissy no one shifted the customers on the other the food is handmade with handmade ingredients laid back atmosphere well worth the money! You can’t put a price on GREAT customer seriveamd food!
Opened a tab and bought 3 drinks on Saturday 6-29-2019 during the Luniz concert.Don’t remember the lady who rang me up but she must’ve charged my card when somebody else bought drinks... I only signed 1 check that was 29.18... even gave a 3 dollar tip. I look at my bank account and there’s another charge for $20. This is not coolEdit: I was able to call them and they informed me that the money was used to check if I had money in my account and not actually taken out of my account
This is an old bar that serves decent pub grub and is a great place to get out of the rain for some drinks and a bite to eat. I’ll go so far as to say I ate the best hot wings I’ve ever eaten, but my wife hated her pulled pork sliders. No one else complained about their food but no one spoke up about how great it was either. They were out of a handful of beers that we wanted to order but the wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

The sign outside boasted the oldest bar in Seattle...stopped in for a beer and a quick bite before a baseball game. Very well priced food and drinks, probably the meatiest wings I've ever seen, and a half decent selection of beers. It was old and dated but I'm guessing to really hammer home that oldest bar in Seattle feeling. Would definitely go back.
Loved it! I dont drink anymore but the water they had was refreshing AND delicious all in one at the same time! I've been clean & sober for nearly almost going on 10 entire full years in a straight row coming up next month so I appreciate the option of drinking only H²o without being pressured to drink by having to purchase something in order to stay there and enjoy some relaxation time without any alcohal consumption involved in a very alcohal friendly environment still. THANK YOU!!! :-)
Very small menu, but what they do, they do well. Excellent pub style food.
The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service are all really great- definitely a cool place to hang out.
Good beer, decent service. Chips and salsa so so but they were out of wings and pulled pork at 5:30pm on a Friday
