My favorite place in the city! It's member-run, underground (literally and figuratively), and it's been the heart of the city's goth and industrial scene for over two decades. There's a few other gothic nights at mainstream bars, but IMO nothing really compares to the atmosphere, community, and legacy of the Merc.

It's members-only and has a dress code but that's not a huge barrier and helps to keep the place safer and on-point (just message the Mercury Machinewerks FB page, @hatefulcoma on insta, or any of the event DJs if you want on the guest list).

Be aware, it’s members only and they have a dress code.
I got excited when I searched Goth Bar and this place came up. So I jumped on a Line bike and peddled 25mins to then be turned away. Sadly I’m up here for work and nothing I brought would fit the dress code. Much sadness.
But I’ll just leave 5 stars cuz I can’t say anything bad about having rules. I’ll just be sad cuz I’ll never be up here again.

This ain't a food place, don't come hungry. Good drinks. Goth mainly. They have lots of members only nights so make sure you can get in. Staff are all volunteers so tip well.

This is the best goth bar in town. Membership only but that's what makes it even better. Definitely come check it out if you can. Bring cash for the entry fee and all drinks! They have atm inside.

The Mercury is a members-only goth club and bar with counter-service for drinks.

It's a sick club , if your not a member and you like goth culture , you ARE missing out. becoming a member may be difficult ( u need to go as a guest 3times ). But it's a weird homy experience bc everyone is not there to judge

Wheelchair accessibility: Slope from the curb, but manageable for most in a Wheelchair. Flat entrance inside available by request, and inside is all ADA spec

Private goth club. Don't expect entry without fitting the vibe and having a member accompanying you or by messaging the Facebook page beforehand. Good drink selection, themed nights, and overall a great, welcoming club for those searching for a locale for the scene. Cash only, members only for ATM access.

Very rude and disrespectful. Called my friend the C word even though she was following directions and checking her bag.

For a place that only runs on tips, their service is horrendous. I felt they were low-key racist and just didn't feel welcomed. My friend ordered a soda and she got it in a cute cup. I went a bit after her, but the bartender seemed annoyed when I ordered the same but just gave me the can because I am mexican and she's not. So, of course, she got better treatment than me. When I went to the coat check lady, she was just passive aggressive and sarcastic. I asked her if I get a paper or something she just rudely said to give me my wrist. She wrote a number on my wrist. I regretted giving her a tip beforehand. If you're a person of color, you will be treated horribly.

Great for youth not for older.

Haven't been out in quite some time so it was a really good night, good music and the familiar underground atmosphere that only the Merc can provide. They don't serve food here but the drinks are always good. 🤘

Totally awesome vibe, even on slow days... yes, it's cash only, and you must have a membership to get in (or get guested in by a member), but its all worth it. Good drinks, great staff. Make sure to tip because the staff are volunteers. They don't get paid, so look out for them!
