Our big day happened here! Lovely ceremony along with exemplary reception with tasty foods and great drinks. Beautiful venue rooms made our pics more wonderful without much extra decoration. Thanks to Elena for her continuous support, going above and beyond for making such a great memory for us!

The Ruins was a very creative setting. Great for a small or medium/family style wedding, it was like a friends & family experience.
Definitely not a mega wedding space. We had a crowd of about 100+\-. There were additional rooms that people moved in and out of easily. So no area was filled with people but we were always a group.
As you entered the Ruins (Room A) there were some tables & chairs. Along one wall was a guest album for signing. Different, quirky but cute at the same time.
The wedding was in (Room B). Traditional isles were set up for seating, there were 2 sides of rows about 6-8 wide and roughly 12 deep. The traditional Isle down the middle and isles on the outside. You didn’t feel crammed in, it was just right! There was a large beautiful fireplace in the front, where the Officiate, Bride & Groom with the wedding party gathered for the wedding ceremony as stated on the invitation to the wedding. (Invitations were clear about when guests should arrive and what time the ceremony would take place.)
Immediately after the wedding we had some time to relax while the rooms were being set up for the post wedding dinner. Guests were invited to the open bar for soda, water or drinks. was a smaller room with an open bar (Room C).
There were 2 additional areas off the bar area for visiting and catching up with friends and families. The area where we entered the venue (Room A). And the dining room, where we ate dinner. (Room D).
Dinner was eaten (Room D).
When dinner had been set up, guests were invited to join the wedding party in the dining room (Room D). Tables were set and seats were assigned. The bride and groom had a brief newspaper at each chair, who said what first in the relationship, how did they meet, when did they meet. A menu of what was available for dinner, vegan items, gluten free items and other dietary choices. Our dinner was served in (Room B), to keep waiting at a minimum designated tables were released, after getting food we returned to our tables. This room was set up for dinner very nicely, the wedding party was sitting at a long table while guests were sitting in front of the wedding group. This dinner situation allowed everyone to see each other and visit. Everyone had at least almost finished dinner. Then the wedding party spoke and the parents spoke.
After dinner everyone went back to the room originally used for the wedding (Room B).
There was a donut cutting by the bride and groom ( My family’s not as traditional as other families ) donuts and cake were collected and most returned to the dining area (Room D).
Eventually there were both non-traditional dances by the bride and groom, then traditional bride & father dancing, then groom & mother dancing. Afterwards most joined in to dance and have some fun. Afterwards the wedding doings were over and everyone returned home.
Parking was across the street, super convenient and reasonably priced for Seattle Washington.
Both restrooms, men's and women's, were out of order during the wedding party, but they found the work around with the support of another venue. It would be five stars if everything was in working condition. Cudos for finding the work around, though, and keeping the party going.
A very special place for our daughter's wedding. The food was excellent, the attention to detail was superb, and the coordinator for the wedding did an excellent job. The venue was small but beautiful.
The Ruins was such an incredible choice for our wedding. Not only is it an unique and memorable venue, but the staff is absolutely incredible. They were immediately on top of all of our needs, being both friendly and attentive. The flow of the wedding was great from one room to another; it just flowed seamlessly.
On top of that, the staff was a joy to have there. When we saw that they were enjoying the music near the end of the night, we invited them out to the dance floor to join the group. And even while they were hyping up the fun, the venue stayed spotless. They also continued to keep the venue tidy as the evening wore on. I never saw spent glasses or plates piling up, and it always felt as if we had just arrived.
The dinner was also impeccable and all of the guests said everything was delicious. We had the braised short ribs, the cedar plank salmon, and little coconut cream pies that were all delicious and greatly enjoyed by all our guests.
If you get a chance I can't recommend this venue enough. It was fantastic for us and our 90 guests.
The photos for this review were taken Sarah Kusz Weddings and she is also fantastic and familiar with The Ruins!
Missing or bad air conditioning. Otherwise, very nice
I recently worked at The Ruins as a photographer, and wow — what a unique space. It’s full of charm, layered details, and just the right amount of quirky, historic character — every corner gave me something fresh to work with.
The team behind the scenes is incredible - impressively organized, kind, and on top of every detail. Their calm, professional energy made the entire day flow so smoothly — which, as someone who witnesses many moving pieces on a wedding day, I deeply appreciate.
For couples who want character over copy-paste — this one delivers!
I’ve had the pleasure of performing at many venues, but The Ruins in Seattle is truly something special. From start to finish, the level of professionalism from the staff and vendors was top-tier. The venue team was incredibly helpful, organized, and welcoming, making load-in, setup, and coordination a breeze. Everyone worked together seamlessly, which made the entire event flow effortlessly—not just for me, but for the couple and their guests too. The Ruins itself is breathtaking. Every room is filled with unique charm and character that adds to the celebration’s vibe. It’s a dream backdrop for weddings, and the acoustics and layout made it easy to keep the energy up all night. If you’re planning a wedding in Seattle, The Ruins is a venue you can trust to deliver an unforgettable experience. Five stars without a doubt!
I’ve had the privilege of performing at countless venues, but The Ruins in Seattle truly stands out as one of the most magical and professional spaces I’ve worked in.
From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, attentive, and incredibly organized—making setup and coordination smooth from start to finish. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence made it easy for me to focus on what I do best: keeping the energy high and the dance floor packed.
Every vendor I encountered—from catering to event planning—brought their A-game. Communication was seamless, timelines were clear, and the collaborative spirit between everyone ensured the couple’s big day was absolutely flawless.
Not to mention, the venue itself is stunning—a hidden gem with charm, elegance, and character around every corner. If you’re considering The Ruins for your wedding or special event, I can’t recommend it highly enough. Five stars all the way!

I hosted an event here and was blown away by how gorgeous and cool and interesting it was. The whole vibe is warehouse speakeasy with a visual surprise around every corner. Our guests loved it.
I met a talking flower and it almost killed me. 10/10!
Absolutely LOVED photographing Kyle and Amy's fall wedding at this venue! 🥰 The staff was super friendly and so easy to work with and talk about photography backdrop options! I love the timeless and vintage feel of the ceremony space, the fall colors, and how unique/eclectic the space is 🤍
We chose to have our February wedding at The Ruins and could not have been happier with our choice! It is such a beautiful vintage space full of whimsical detail and surprises in every corner. We highly recommend reserving the speakeasy as well--our guests loved to discover that space, and it proved a welcome retreat for those needing a quick break from the dance floor. Landmark Events and all their staff were excellent to work with. They answered all our questions throughout the whole planning process. The equipment rentals were of good quality, and the food was delicious, with plenty of fun option, with accommodations made for all those with dietary restrictions.
The Ruins is a venue like no other—a place where fantasy, romance, and whimsy come together to create something truly magical. Stepping into The Ruins feels like entering an upscale carnival dreamland, with its vibrant, eclectic design and enchanting atmosphere. It’s the perfect setting for couples who want a wedding that’s both unique and unforgettable.
As a photographer, I love the beautiful, well-lit spots inside the venue. Every corner has its own charm, from the colorful walls to the intricate details that make every shot feel special. Plus, there are great options for portraits outside the venue, giving couples even more variety for their photos.
The reception hall is an absolute standout. With its lively stage and artfully colorful walls, it’s the perfect backdrop for an epic celebration. The space really comes alive during a party, creating an atmosphere that’s full of energy and joy.
The staff at The Ruins is just as amazing as the venue itself. They’re helpful, attentive, and truly committed to making sure everything runs smoothly. Their professionalism and teamwork make it a joy to work here.
If you’re looking for a venue that feels like a fairytale with a touch of artistic flair, The Ruins is the place to be. It’s always a highlight of my year when I get to photograph weddings in this magical space.
