It was certainly nice enough. I liked the more casual atmosphere. The steak was decent though I felt it was overpriced for the quality. Maybe I was just unlucky with my 12oz ribeye but I don't think I would go back. The mushroom side was absolutely delicious though.

The food was good, but it was so hot inside it was unenjoyable, it's hard to have a nice dinner when you are dripping sweat.

Tl/dr: Unpretentious steakhouse.
Recently discovered this hidden gem in the Mapleleaf area of town. Made a reservation and wasn't sure if we needed to dress up or not.
Arrived to a very warm welcome, and lo-fi hip hop beats. Our servers were super friendly, knowlegable and were humorous. The vibe here is eat well, your'e going to be taken care of.
We just found our new favorite place for enjoying a very nice meal offered by wonderful people.
Parking is hit or miss out back.
Reservations are always welcome.

Absolutely fantastic steak, oh my goodness! We had the Wagyu bavette and Denver and both were amazing. Perhaps the bavette edged out as the winner, by a tiny bit. An incredible sear and crust on the outside, perfectly cooked to medium rare, tender and juicy on the inside. The sides (roasted radishes, smashed potatoes) and drinks and dessert were all excellent, too. Just a great neighborhood spot with a flair for quality and nice surrounds!

You can’t go wrong with a happy hour or dinner here, it’s worth every cent - and many would likely tell you it’s a value for the quality of the food and service.
I love to come here for an occasional date night, the steaks (no matter the cut - you don’t have to get wagyu for it to be great!) and burger are always incredible - sides and starters also, I’ve never had a bad salad or burrata dish here, I usually hate beets and they made a beet salad that changed my mind. The menu is seasonal always changing - which can be a positive or a negative (if you long for the beet/yuzu salad that is gone forever.)
Cocktails are lovely, as is the wine and the staff is always personable, kind and delightfully unpretentious - even when they’re busy.
Happy hour has a really different menu of small plates too - so you’re never ordering the same thing twice.
Really, as someone who doesn’t often go for a three figure dinner, I’m always grateful that I feel like my money is well-spent here.

I had the best experience at the Shambles! Was the first experience and the first time having a Tomahawk steak! Delicious, tasty, juicy and perfectly cooked! The beef tartare too! The service too, wonderful! Props to the servers and chef!🧑🏻🍳 I’ll definitely be back!

We ordered several ribeyes and filet. Cooked superbly with delicious crust on the steak both when rare or well done. The potatoes, radishes, peppers, and steak tartare all came out nicely seasoned and without heavy grease. We ate a lot and left satisfied. Will return to try the wagyu

You know that part in ratatouille where Ego has a brain blast flashback from the food being so good? That was me and husband just now biting into the wagyu bavette and ribeye. Best steak in seattle. Period. Amazing service and vibes as well. Wow!!!

Sit down, shut up, choose your steak from the chalk board on the wall... and get the pickled vegi plate.
Buy a round a drinks for your crew... I mean, they came with you after all. Throw some potatoes in for good measure.
Don't like medium rare? Go see a psychiatrist.
When the steak arrives, try not to make those inappropriate noises while you scarf it down like a starving hyena in February.
You won't need a doggie bag because there won't be anything left. And if there was, the dog sure as hell isn't gonna get any.
Try to repair your reputation after dinner by getting a Remy and acting like you're important.
Don't worry, we all know you're important.

Sitting in The Shambles just feels right. Surveying the Chalkboard, making a Steak Decision, having a tasty wine, being surprised at a new way to have radishes, loving the drizzle and butter applied, and appreciating the awesome chocolate potcd'creme. All superfine... AND the yummy steak.
