What a fun and welcoming place! It’s like a combination, hipster dive bar and old-school cocktail lounge with lots of red and gold accents, feels like it should be in Vegas! The food was good, and there was live music a couple of times we were there which we enjoyed. We stayed a little longer for the karaoke, and that was also fun. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a little bit of nostalgic retro fun. It seemed that they had a lot of theme nights for LGBQ, sports folks, but also people that liked different kinds of live music and entertainment. They even have comedy nights!

I’ve done a lot of karaoke in my day and Shanghai room is at the top of my spots to go. The staff are friendly and fair, the KJs are fun and make sure things flow smoothly, and the crowd that goes are usually just the absolute best to perform for. You never know what you might see whenever you drop by!

Underrated place for a birthday party! Celebrated my wife's B-Day here and they made it special. Helped with the theme and decorations. Everyone had a blast and the kareoke DJ was excellent.

I’m not typically a karaoke person but my friends and I wound up here on a whim a few Fridays ago and had a blast. The KJ (I guess this what they call Karaoke DJs) was so rad, super welcoming- and hilarious (and easy on the eyes. Just saying.) She made everyone feel so welcome, kept us entertained and even gave a few of us the courage to get up there and rip it up. Props to KJ Aly for getting me to do something I never thought I would do. Also, stick around long enough to watch her crush a song too. Damn girl. Drinks were appropriately stiff too. Bartenders are super nice. Will definitely be back.

Great dive bar for karaoke! Drinks were surprisingly tasty. Service was fast, even though they had a huge line. We will be coming back!

This was consistently my favorite bar for the past few years, right up until the karaoke girl told my husband he’d have to “pay a lot of money” to get on the karaoke list. Ok, weirdo.
It left a real sour taste in our mouths. Not sure if we’ll be coming back.

The Shanghai room is a great spot Friday thru Sunday for open mic comedy and karaoke! Their food from North Star Diner is delicious, too! April, Stevie and Belle are all amazing as well! 🤗 Five Stars - would recommend!

If it wasn't for the comedy night, which I learned is created and hosted 100% by volunteers, my friends and I would never come in. The drinks are overpriced in my opinion and the bar service is mediocre but the diner food is surprisingly good with good pricing.
The comedians aren't always great, sometimes they're first timers, but either way, it's entertaining and fun and FREE!
If you get easily offended, comedy probably isn't something you should seek out. This place is 21+. Some of the things the comedians say are less than PC or rated G. That's just part of going to an adult comedy show. You aren't going to appreciate everyone, but it's not the venues fault.
Karaoke is cool, if you're into that, if not, it's just really loud.
