I ordered a heart shaped cake with vintage piping and it was perfect for my thirtieth birthday party! It was so pretty and everything I envisioned, and was delicious! Everyone loved it and it was the star of the show! I got funfetti with chocolate ganache.
When I ordered the cake I requested to pick up in Totem Lake, but there was a mixup and I had to go pickup in Seattle. No big deal, and I got a free slice of their eggnog cake for the inconvenience and it was also delicious! The girls working there were so nice and apologetic for the mixup. I will be ordering again for my next event!

Very good cake! Ordered for my fiancés birthday. Very easy online ordering process. Pickup was quick and easy and the gal that helped me very friendly with how to defrost and store.
Cake itself was very good!! Got the sprinkle drip cake with vanilla cake and chocolate filling. Customizable writing, candles, etc if you’d like.
Will definitely be ordering from there again!

We hired the SweetSide to make our wedding cake. We ordered a two-tiered cake for 26 people, and were able to have each tier be a different flavor. The cake turned out absolutely beautiful; so many people were amazed by the quality of the sugar flowers, and honestly thought they were real flowers. The top flavor was coconut and apricot, and the bottom flavor was lemon and raspberry. We were so pleased with the final product! Thank you, Sweetside!

I hate to give this review. I ordered 2 cake slices from the window. The cakes looked amazing. The slices were huge for the $9-ish each slice. The cake was moist. The staff was kind and polite. Now for the 2 stars. The cake was flavorless and the frosting was gross (consistency and flavor). The chai cake slice was inedible. It was simply shortening in flavor and texture. The cookie cake had a different frosting that was exactly like the pre-made buckets of frosting that Safeway bakery uses (overly sweet, no real flavor added, preservative aftertaste). I really wish I liked this bakery. It’s convenient. The staff and vibe seemed right, but those recipes are indeed off as others have shared. I have hope they will grow, change and improve. I’ll be back to try again in likely a year or so. I’ll update my review not if, but when it changes. Supporting this neighborhood business is importance to me.

I love love love their walk-up window Thursday-Saturday. The cake slices are huge (5 1/2" tall by 5 1/2" diameter), and the flavors are great. Almond with passionfruit filling was my favorites so far. Fresh, super moist, and bold flavors.

Stopped by on a Tuesday to try the cake or macarons. Turns out they only sell cake slices Thursday-Sunday. It’d be nice if they had a small selection of baked goods during the week. Don’t want to arrange a whole tasting but curious to try!
We live near The SweetSide and after passing by so many times decided to get our wedding cake from here. The entire process was great, from the take home tasting to ordering and pickup. Kara and the team worked with our wedding planner to make sure the cake would survive the summer heat and arrived in great condition. The cake and Macarons (especially the lemon ones!) were a huge hit with all our guests. We’ll be using The SweetSide again next time we need a cake for a special occasion.
The cake was beautiful, but the frosting just tasted like shortening and the cake was very dry. 2 stars because I ordered some really tasty cookies from here once for teachers appreciation, and I will give them that the cake was beautiful

I found The Sweet Side through a Google Search, and was in need of some killer character cakes for a project. Not only did they deliver the most adorable, detailed, fun designs, but they could not have been more accommodating. Very quick to respond to my sometimes annoying requests, and could not have been kinder. Everyone involved in our project was thrilled with what The Sweet Side team came up with, and I'd highly recommend them for all of your cake needs. I'd happily order from them again and again and again!!

I had custom macaroons made for my asking my bridesmaids to with me on my wedding day. They turned out beautifully and were delicious. I have a bridesmaid with a dietary restriction, and they accommodated her needs. When I asked for the ingredients just to be sure it was safe, they sent the ingredient list over.
The one reason for a 4 star rating was there was a lot of emailing back and forth to really get the picture of what I wanted. I think being very clear from the beginning with what I wanted for the custom order would help. I also would have appreciated a notification to confirm the order the week of pickup. I had to reach out to confirm with the team to ensure my order was ready since I placed the order a month in advance to ensure enough time for them to make the macaroons. It just would be nice to get a reminder that pick up was still scheduled for the correct day.
Overall, they were beautiful, my bridesmaids loved them and they were delicious.

We have had cakes from The SweetSide for every special occasion since discovering them. Their pre-designed cakes are all so special already that we’ve never had the need to go fully custom. Most recently, we got the Rodeo cake for my daughter’s birthday, and it was the main attraction at her party (other than her). There were tiny spurs on the tiny boots!
I will say, they provide specific instructions on how to keep your cake freshest, if you aren’t picking it up the day of your event. I can only imagine that’s why some of the other reviews have issues with taste. Set a reminder when to take it out of the fridge and you won’t have an issue. I always freeze our leftovers to finish later.

I ordered a chocolate blackout cake for a birthday. Ordering was easy and I actually asked to switch my pickup date by a few days via email and they were able to accommodate which I was very thankful for. As a baker myself I rarely order cakes from other people but took a chance on this place and was not really satisfied. It looked nice, but if taste isn’t up to par the outside doesn’t really matter. The cake was not really moist and icing was not good- there just wasn’t anything outstanding about the cake. It’s like something I’d make out of my kitchen from a box mix or buy from a grocery for $25. I did wait for it to get to room temp which they are really adamant about. My boyfriend liked the cake at least but I wouldn’t order anything else from this place. Deep Sea Sugar is far far better cake and is the same price, just a bit far of a drive. I’ll order from there next time or make it myself.
