Eggplant with salted fish is amazing and my new favorite. Everything I have ever tried is delicious!

This place holds my heart and my belly. Jamie is the best and she always remembers me from my time working in Chinatown and tonkiang would be my go to for work potlucks. You can’t go wrong with anything in here.

2 meat combo, only 3 pieces of roasted duck this time... bad luck, maybe, but usually they give you a whole lot!

They're not clear about their prices. I got the 3 meat lunch special and they jacked up their price by a few dollars, on the fly, presumably because I spoke in English. Be careful if it's the women taking the orders.
Overall, their meats are good and the lunch special was a good portion for the price, that's why it gets 3 stars. But fleecing paying customers is such a 20th century practice. It's universally understood that I get to choose where I spend my money. I won't be supporting this business often, or possibly at all, in the future, I'll have to see.

Update: their response to the price hike was due to tax. I had no idea Seattle's sales tax was 20% - 30%. That being the case, I will be more conservative with my spending, and spend my money somewhere else.

This is the best Cantonese BBQ in Seattle. If you ever find yourself heading to Uwajimaya or the rest of the ID on Mon-Sat and you want roast pork, do yourself a favor and head here instead. For a cheaper price you can get fresh roast pork that is to die for. Well marinated, crunchy, and juicy. The dry beef chow fun is also a staple and is always cooked hot to order. I've ordered from here many many times and never been disappointed.

P.S.: If you want roast chicken you might want to call in ahead. It's very popular.

On my way to dim sum next door (Homestyle, also recommended!), I saw Ton Kiang, looked it up, and decided to give it a try after seeing the good reviews. It's a takeout only store with no seats.

My husband got his usual combo with BBQ Pork (叉烧) and crispy roasted pork (烧肉). The combo meat with rice also comes with some cabbages, I guess to clean the palate and give you some fibers. Unless the NY style we have in NYC, the BBQ pork doesn't come with sauce, but already flavorful enough. I got a little bit of BBQ spare ribs to try, it's flavorful but a little salty for me since I didn't eat it with rice. Probably would be perfect if you eat the ribs with rice.

The owner couple are very friendly. I am glad that we stopped by here and had a little chat with them.

Bought some Char Siu that was the worst I’ve ever had and I am 71 years old. I should have inspected it. Got home and one piece was all fat, another was hard as a rock. Garbage.

Follow up. I also got the duck congee and refrigerated it for three days. It was great. So not all bad. But five days later the char siu still grinds me.

Quintessential hole-in-wall vibe. Go for the roast crispy pork. Steamed chicken was boney. Two meats rice dish is $13.00. Pretty good value.
