Decent place to get sushi in North Seattle. Super friendly service with complementary miso soup and a salad of some sort. For the same price of a sushi spot in downtown Seattle or Capitol Hill, I have noticed that this place is pretty pricey, especially if they are preferring Venmo or Zelle for a payment. Besides that turn off, the food was OK, I would rather go to Momiji instead.

Highly recommend! Both my wife and I each had our own Chef’s Selection for dinner, which was a very generous assortment of various sushi. Our favorite was the fatty tuna - melted in our mouths. Objectively, this wasn’t the best sushi we’ve had but it definitely stands out - especially since they give you FAT cuts of quality fish. It’s also an authentic, family-owned joint. The family was SO nice.
Note: they take Venmo, Zelle, or cash for payment.

Now I know why they're so expensive. The only open for 10hrs a week. Last time I was there it 35.00 for a rainbow roll. I couldn't believe it. But now it makes sense just making a point. In my opinion it's the best in Seattle. Still it feels like taking advantage of loyal customers. 5:00 - 7:30 4 days a week. What a life. Now that's Capitalism at its finest. Just saying. Guess I'm just mad they're not open. Slackers lol

Go with house special and calamari. Entrees are excellent! Pricey and busy since they have a short window of business hours.
The sushi and nigiri were so fresh and well made. The prices are definitely on the higher side (I've never paid $30 for a bowl of udon before) but the quality was excellent, and everything was delicious. The service was great, all the servers were attentive and friendly. We had a great experience.

The sushi was delicous. I definitely wanna go back. Not may rolls to choose from if thats your thing. But the ones we got were so good.
Bad quality food. Insane prices.

Amazing food, just amazing. We ate there last night and i’m still sitting here texting my girlfriend about how delicious it was. Sitting at the bar and watching them work was a delight. A hidden gem that we will definitely go back to.

Wow this restaurant is a must to try.We went after 6pm on Saturday family of 4,we were seated right away and offered a miso soup and water. The tempura selection is amazing,we had susi to share including the scallop tuna crab and others ,the food i tasted is really good.I would love to it every week if I could.I wished we didn’t know about it sooner. We parked near Tweedy and Pop and walked two minutes. The restaurant was very busy and the service was great.

We love Toyoda; it's amazing. It reminds us so much of our 2 years living in Japan. I was planning to give a 5 star review, but after we paid via their preferred method Venmo, one of their staff ran after us wanting to know if we had paid. Needless to say we were surprised and embarrassed. One would hope that they'd check before running after us.
I appreciate your response and apologies. However, just to be clear we paid via Venmo and there is not 4 digit code required as it comes out of our bank account. We felt singled out.
This restaurant feels dishonest. There is no itemized bill so you do not know how the final price is calculated unless you yourself consult the menu again.
Our group of 3 spent $250 on sushi that was honestly just “fine” and then they had the gall to check our bill 3 times then chase after us outside the restaurant to badger us about tips not being included.
I would hope that for $250 a restaurant can pay its workers a fair wage, and even so, there is no lower “tipped minimum” in Seattle like in other parts of the country. A gratuity shouldn’t be expected, especially when you charge absurd prices for only an average product. If you are charging this much money for only 3 people, you should be paying your employees waaaay more than $20/hr minimum wage. The owners make money hand over fist while leaving their employees at the minimum.
But regardless, pursuing customers who already paid outside on the street is unacceptable behavior. Lack of professionalism and mediocre food means no further interest in returning.
