I called to place an order over the phone for a small açaí bowl this afternoon. When I arrived it wasn’t ready and the worker apologized and said she forgot to make it but it would be real quick. She did prepare it quickly but after handling the register computer, she made the açaí bowl and used her bare hands to arrange the fruit on top. I told her I didn’t want the bowl because she used her bare hands. She offered to make me a new one but I just declined the offer and left. Food workers need to be better about this stuff. They need to be washing hands before handling food and switching activities. Even better, they should be washing hands and then also using gloves. I’m not sure I’ll be back after that, but I do hope they can get on top of food safety because their açaí bowls were delicious the previous times I’ve been to this business.
