My review is going to be pretty narrow in focus (because I essentially get the same order every time), but I feel obligated to write it because I've gone here dozens of times.
As a vegetarian, the Kitsune Soup Udon is what I get every single time, and as someone who hasn't eaten a lot of Udon, I was surprised that such a simple dish was so tasty. Even with the bare minimum of soup, udon noodles and piece of aburaage (sweet tofu), I found it to be a dish I could eat over and over. Then I realized I was being too simplistic, and adding some toppings (especially chili oil), enhanced the dish even more.
I gave 3 stars for the service and atmosphere because it is essentially a buffet style where they hand the food to you across the counter before the register, and the atmosphere is pretty standard for a sit down restaurant. However neither of these things makes the experience worse, hence why I gave it 5 stars overall. The prices aren't cheap, but they aren't overly expensive either, and I feel like I'm getting my money's worth for the most part.
I don't want to say too much because my experience with the menu is very limited, but for my purposes this has been an outstanding Udon restaurant that I keep coming back to again and again. Definitely recommend if you're in the mood for simple, good Udon without a crazy price tag attached.

The gyoza at U:DON were juicy and crisped to perfection.

I ordered a curry ka tzu bowl but got a seasame sauce instead, it’s a to go order, and when I called back, they already closed , so my kids have to eat ka tzu with no sauce !

Fun, but the quality is typically buffet quality.

Food was overly sweet, artificial, and sides were cold and stale despite being under hot lamp. Counter service only, fast casual and demanded a 20% tip default. Absolutely not worth it, so many better options in Seattle.

Unfortunately, everything here is too sweet to be authentic.

Some of the best broth I've ever tasted.

Food was not that great (please don’t pour hot broth into hot rice, it makes the rice goopy)
Portions are laughable. I ordered the beef curry rice bowl, but it was a bowl of rice, and like 2 insanely thin and tiny pieces of beef.
Safe to say that i’ll not be coming back here unless they fix their portions

This place only offers takeout from 2:00 to 4:30 PM on weekdays, but they don’t mention that on Google Maps—only a small note on the door. It was really frustrating to drive all the way here just to find out I couldn’t dine in. Also, parking is street-only and paid.
Honestly I really wanted to love this place. I was expecting to get hot noodles. But I got cold noodles. I wish the server would have helped me out. The taste was underwhelming and I won’t be coming back. Going to go with a $20 pack of 30 indomies off of Amazon.com and adding some eggs and seaweed instead😋😋😋

Great food, great service. Walk-through line to order Udon, with self service seating. We took it to go. Loved the noodles and the goodies that came with.

It was really only good for value, now the prices went up by a lot, it's not worth anymore. You could literally get noodles with more topping variety for the same price literally anywhere else. With the new price hike, I can't recommend this place anymore.

This was one of my favorite cap hill restaurants for years - you could get yummy noodles for around $9.
Now the same dish is $15. There is no way a very simple bowl of noodles, sauce, and an egg is worth that much. Hell, you can go a couple blocks away and get noodles with more toppings and flavor for around the same price.
For what you get, the cost doesn’t make sense… Especially also considering this is a counter serve restaurant with cafeteria style seating. Huge bummer the prices skyrocketed as I probably won’t return again
