Highly recommend a visit to Urara is you're looking for a great sushi spot near Pike Place Market! We ordered a few rolls and the omakase sashimi for lunch and it did not disappoint. The omakase comes with miso soup too. The portion sizes were large and we left feeling very satisfied. They also have gluten free tamari sauce. If you're gluten intolerant make sure to ask for a server for it as it's not listed on their menu.

The photos of this place are not accurate. The space has downsized and the bar pictured has now been absorbed by the kitchen. There are many flies and a terrible smell coming from the bathroom.

Easily some of the best sushi and miso soup in downtown Seattle. I’ve been exploring sushi spots all over the heart of the city, and Urara is one of my favorites. It’s a hole in the wall type of cozy place, the fish is amazing and the servings are large, the team is incredibly kind and hard working, prices are very reasonable, and I love how close it is to Pike Place. On rainy nights, eating sushi at the bar with a book is one of my favorite things to do. Whether you come with friends or on your own, you’re sure to have a good time and leave happy and satisfied.

A little hidden gem! Its the best sushi ive had in seattle.
We decided that, before we go in to wander Pike Place Market, we better not be hungry going in.
So we got an intentional late start so we could have an early lunch at Urara for that very reason - plus we had read good things about the place.
We opted to sit at the counter and so got to interact with the chef.
We opted for the smaller omakase (tuna, scallop, crab, flounder and OMG the salmon - so perfectly fatter and fresh!)then a glorious sake-don, two stunning pieces of mackerel sashimi, the best takoyaki ever, and then chef threw in a mixed seafood poke on the house (so good!).
What a fantastic meal and just steps away from the malestrom that is Pike Place Market. This wonderful bubble of a place is a must go to place in my opinion.
I definitely recommend this place and would go back there in a heartbeat. You should try it.

Chirashi all the way. Chef's choice of an assortment of fish. I got tuna, salmon, scallop, squid and shrimp. The scallop was absolutely my favorite! The tuna was amazing and usually how you can tell the fish is fresh (because tuna really shows). The salmon was great too. Very pleased with my bowl and felt super full and satisfied after.

At first glance, this place may look like just another hole in the wall seafood restaurant. But it couldn't be further from that. It is small and a reservation is highly recommended here. But if you get the chance to experience the masterpieces of the artist behind the counter you will not be disappointed. The service was quickThe food was exquisite, and I would one hundred percent eat here almost every day if I possibly could. Stopping through the area on vacation. This is a must have it is authentic. As can be and the flavor is unmatched. Cannot wait to come back and the friendly staff here is always welcoming to anybody. It is a great environment and a very peaceful place to be.

The small place has decent sushi with a limited menu. Fish is fresh and high quality. Hot foods are made to order. However if you like spicy roles and dishes, this is not the place for you. This place is quite a hit more traditional japanese sushi than most places in Seattle. The staff are friendly even if they weren't easily accessible due to disappearing into the back kitchen frequently.
