I was so excited to visit Volunteer Park Cafe when they reopened under new ownership we have tried to go after visiting the park, but every time we've ever gone they're out of food. The menu is small as is and they can run out of most items by as early as 9:30 or 10am. I'll give it an extra star because the vibes are good and the space is adorable and the few baked items we've tried have been really good.
We got a scone and coffee and sat near the window. The vibe was great with lovely background music playing. Steadily busy but the counter staff were kind and efficient. A very popular place; we saw several people walking, coffee cups and pastries in hand before we even arrived. The interior is darling and the location is perfect. Will definitely be back!
I've had almost everything on their menu and never been sad about one item. The egg salad is divine, as is their coconut cake. There is often a line and limited seating, but I've never needed to wait more than 10 min to sit.
