The first time I went in February 2025, we had a pretty great experience (albeit expensive)! Four of us went for happy hour to celebrate a birthday. We got to pick the specific type of oysters we wanted and we had about a dozen each plus a couple of drinks each. The total bill was over $300, which seemed high for a happy hour, but we didnât think twice about it since it was for a birthday.
The same group went again last week during the pop-up for Shut Up Bobbyâs, and the experience was night and day. We had absolutely terrible service. We ordered on our phones (the only option at the time), and then waited a very long time. We couldnât pick the type of oysters and when they were delivered we received next to no explanation about them. We also werenât given mignonette?! The food from the pop-up was good (the only saving grace), but we were there for the oysters and were incredibly disappointed. They were also out of a ton of items. For this price, having such a lack luster experience is unacceptable. We will not be back.

**Review specifically for the winter Shut Up Bobbyâs popup**
We had friends visiting and wanted to take them to Westward the the epic view and amazing food, but didnât know if weâd be able to get it (weâre used used to the summer time crowds!) - and we were pleasantly surprised to find they were doing a special popup restaurant concept during Westwardâs slower months called âShut Up Bobbyâsâ! We found parking right out front, a lot of open tables, so no wait at all.
Itâs a very different experience and menu from the usual Westward, but same great view and vibes - and the food was incredible! :) Slimmed down staff and menu - casual/seat yourself setup with a simple menu of chicken or salmon platters and sides to build your own tacos as well as fresh or baked oysters (think QR code on the table/order through your phone and they drop off at your table). But price points were really reasonable ($48 chicken platter with a couple sides and a half dozen oysters added on fed four of us) and the food was fantastic.
Iâd highly recommend checking it out - we totally get how tough winter/slow months can be in the f&b industry and love the creative approach they took to keep the lights on and provide an amazing experience!
**fyi they said itâs the same culinary team, but offering this special, slimmed down menu to get through the slow winter - so you will definitely have a fantastic meal AND help support this gem of a restaurant! You can order online for pickup too!

Westward offers an unparalleled dining experience that perfectly encapsulates the sophisticated, laid-back spirit of the Pacific Northwest. Stunning location with panoramic views of the Seattle skyline.

Probably the best salmon I've ever had! I was shocked. Especially because the baked oysters I got for an appetizer were not good and not fresh. But the salmon and chicken were so incredible I still give them 5 stars!
The service is very friendly, but weird because the default is you do everything on your phone, so it's a bit difficult flagging people down and doing orders the old fashioned way. If you want to do it all on your phone, it's very smooth, and when you do interact with people they are very friendly and concerned and responsive to your requests.

This review is specifically for the Fall/Winter Shut Up Bobby's pop-up.
I'll be honest: Westward has usually been a pretty underwhelming food experience - quite expensive, decent but unremarkable dishes, and a great view. Itâs the kind of place you go more for the lakefront vibes than for the meal itself.
Shut Up Bobby's is a completely different story. Itâs a no-frills, inexpensive, get-your-hands-dirty pop-up with absolutely phenomenal chicken - smoky, tangy, spicy, and perfectly cooked. Not a hint of dryness; just melt-in-your-mouth juicy. You can build it like a taco with the tortilla, rice, beans, and salsa. Both salsas are great and complement each other: the mild is a smoky verde, while the hot is a tangy, pepper-forward red/orange sauce. And honestly, the chicken is so flavorful that you can happily eat it straight off the bone with nothing else.
This pop-up is a completely new experience at Westward. Forget whatever expectations you had - just show up. Itâs absolutely worth it, and I genuinely hope Shut Up Bobby's finds a way to stick around longer, because Iâd love to enjoy it year-round.

Highly Disappointing LunchâExpensive, Unsatisfying Food, and Poor Availability
My friend and I visited Westward last weekend for lunch, and unfortunately, the meal was far from satisfying. Considering Westward's reputation as a seafood establishment, we were immediately disappointed to learn that the Crab Roll was already sold out at 12:00 PM (noon). This level of unavailability for a signature seafood item is unacceptable, especially at the start of the lunch service.
We ordered four dishes, none of which met the expected standard for a restaurant at this price point:
* Spicy Clam Dip & Potato Chips ($18): This was the most shocking. It was essentially store-bought potato chips served with a very ordinary dip. Charging this much for such a simple, unremarkable item felt like a significant rip-off.
* Chicory Salad($24): The salad was decent, but it was over-dressed with too much vinegar, making it overly sour and difficult to enjoy after a few bites.
* Smoked Halibut Rillettes($36): The portion was incredibly small, and the dish itself was unfortunately very untastable (lacked flavor and appeal).
* Braised Pork Birria($33): To make matters worse, we waited a shocking 40 minutes for this main course, only to find it was merely 'just-so-so' and barely edible.
Overall, we paid around $150 for a lunch we simply did not enjoy. The combination of high prices, poor food quality, frustrating item unavailability, and the extremely long wait for a subpar main dish meant the experience was terrible. If I hadn't used dining credits from a credit card, I would be even more upset about this expense. I will not be dining here again and cannot recommend it.

It is at a good location but food was a bit too expensive for its quality. (Halibut i ordered was overcooked and there were some sands like textured things remaining in the clam dish and baked oyster was a bit too chewy) Also they auto include 22% tip in the bill.

The food wasnât bad, and the view is nice. But big stars knocked off for the service. My friend had a peanut & bean allergy and asked for clarification which dishes would be safe, and we ordered all âsafeâ items. Turns out, 75% of the safe dishes had beans - snap peas, bean sprouts, and more were all over the place. Our friend basically only had oysters. Really disappointing to pay so much and not have a server know whatâs in their food.

I came here for oysters â they were small but very sweet and fresh! During happy hour, they were $3 each, and I ordered 25 of them for two people. However, I didnât like that they charged extra for all the sauces, even though the oysters were already $3 each. They should also mention that ketchup is charged separately for the potato fries â I thought it was included as a house condiment. By the way, the server was friendly and polite, and I appreciated their great service, so I still left an extra tip even though a 22% service charge was already included in the bill. The sunset view was beautiful and made the experience even better.

Absolutely astronomical prices for mid options. Would not recommend.

We had a wonderful brunch at Westward. The staff were so welcoming and the view is just amazing. Food was delicious and everything was made perfection. Will be back for sure!
