I just picked up food from this "hyped" place. We ordered the Tandoori Chicken bites, Chicken noodle soup (Kathmandu chicken soup), and spinach momo. The chicken bites were just average and not sure how they were even tandoori, the soup was oily. The momos were decent. I do not believe I will be going back to this place in future.

We ordered take out and they texted us when the food was ready for pickup, which was right when they estimated it would be ready. Good vegetarian choices. Good flavors, fresh vegetables. The naan is perhaps the best we've ever had.

We in our home love each of the Yeti bars we have tried. Our favorites are the Glacier and the Oats and Honey they both foam up nicely against the skin. The scent lasts all day and makes us feel clean all day. LOVE the YETI!

I had the same service issues that others are complaining of but the most significant issue this place has are roaches.

Rather a hole in the wall. You need to negotiate small set of stairs to reach the small dining room. The flavor and freshness of the food draws a regular stream of locals. Curry esp good.

Yeti bar is a new "upstairs" addition to the popular Annapurna restaurant on Capitol Hill. It seems to be trafficked mostly by dinner goers who are waiting for their table at the basement Annapurna dining room. The bar is warm, cozy, and dimly lit with nice wooden accents and a view of Broadway avenue out the front windows. Funky Indian videos play on the TV screens at a lowish volume that allows for conversation.

Truthfully this place is just a place I come to when Annapurna Cafe (restaurant part of the Yeti bar) is too busy for seats. You get the best of both worlds: the lychee martini and the amazing appetizers!! I would recommend getting (in order from my favorites) 1.tensing(chicken) momo 2.kakro ra nun khursani 3.lamb crispy rolls The lychee martini is the must get drink.

Really great food - for veggies and meat-lovers... Good service, but very long waiting times after we ordered... And maybe it's just me (from Germany), but you should really NOT order the "Tajmahal Lager Beer"...

Great place for authentic Nepalese food. It is quaint and down stairs. Wonderful staff and a great selection of foods from Nepal and India.

Visited here last weekend. Our son and his girlfriend love this place. We ordered several appetizers and entrees to eat family style. Would go back their again in a heartbeat.

We were in the Capitol Hill neighborhood and needed a place to eat. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was here. We've been to a number of Nepalese restaurants and we've haven't liked it as much as Indian food. This place has mostly Nepalese food w/ a small number of Indian options. The food was amazing! The momos were best we've had- the meat was tasty and the sauces were delicious. We had the cauliflower appetizer and that was also very good- some people may have thought it was a little underdone but we liked how the cauliflower held its texture and flavor. Again had a delicious sauce. The main course called Sherpa Curry was full of chicken and unlike a lot of Indian curries which are just soupy liquid w/ a little bit of veggies, this was less wet so the vegetables remained intact and you can really taste them. The naan was very different in texture from the usual Indian naan but in a good way. You can taste how fresh it was. If you're on the fence, go for it! I agree the space is a little cramped and loud (possibly a fire hazard since it's in the basement) but the food more than makes up for it. The service was very good.

This place is FANTASTIC. Their drinks are legit, their happy hour is an amazing deal, the bartender was incredible, the food delicious, and to top it off there was delightful Bollywood going on the TV.

I've visited this bar and the restaurant below quite a few times. I live very close and am generally fond of both. Let me break down the Yeti Bar specifically:Pros:Location. It's pretty close to the rest of the Capitol Hill destinations and only about a ten minute walk from Cal Anderson. It’s close to the ten and eight buses and the light rail.Food. The bar shares a kitchen with Annapurna downstairs. The head chef very obviously loves what they do and cares very deeply about their craft. I don’t think I’ve ever had anything that was actually bad, only food items that didn’t fit my tastes. The tandori chicken and tensing momo are go-tos. The bar has a partial menu compared to the restaurant. The drinks. I’m partial to the frozen drinks they make, especially Anna’s Banana. I order it almost every time I go. I don’t care how girly it is; it’s delicious. My less picky friends have ordered the cocktails on the menu and I have never heard a bad thing about a single one of them. Whoever planned this menu cares very much and knows what they’re doing.Cons:This is a big one: the service. It alone cost the bar three stars in my review. I never go when the bar has more than a handful of people because it seems like I’m always waiting forever. I’ve been to restaurants with good food and bad service and have gone back; I’ve been to places with great service but mediocre food and have gone back. I try really hard not to judge a place too harshly on one criteria, especially since there's so much that goes into having a successful eatery, but after a certain point, you really can ignore it anymore. The service in the downstairs isn’t stellar either, but you can tell they're trying, which I can’t say for the Yeti bar. Now, this is where it gets weird…Another reviewer and a fellow local guide called out a bartender that I also had issues with during my last visit, described as “pale white with a shaved head.” I also had the exact same experience, “He never acknowledged us. FOR 15 minutes!! He waited on every other white person that walked into the bar after us. Without even a hello.” I also sat at the bar and made eye contact with this guy several times, had my ID and debit card out and a menu in front of me, but after 20 minutes just packed up and left after being skipped over twice after random people walked in well after I did. This is the really frustrating part of the other person’s review: the other reviewer insists that their bad service by this bartender was because they were half of an interracial couple. I think that an accusation of racism is a very extreme one and should not be made lightly, however it would be dishonest of me to not mention that I’m also half of an interracial relationship and have been to this bar with my black girlfriend several times. In any case, whatever this guy’s problem was, this is probably some of the worst service I’ve ever gotten. I can’t recommend this bar in all good faith, especially when the restaurant downstairs serves the great food which is the real appeal of this place, and you can order drinks at the restaurant as well. Why visit the bar at all, then? I seriously doubt I'll be back.
