Yifang Taiwan Fruit Tea UW

It's one of the only places where when I ask for no sugar, I actually get NO SUGAR. Sometimes they'll even alert me that the Boba has sugar in it, in case I have a medical issue, which is kind (I don't, I just prefer not too sweet). They're one of the only places that also has egg custard, and tastes good! That and their plain, hot ginger tea are my favorites.

I personally would not recommend this space. Immediately going in, I was directed to the self-serve kiosks and told to order from there. I understand that the workers might have been busy at around night time but creating a welcoming space and not being told without question to go to the self-serve tablets would’ve been nice.

Once I got my drink, I found the taste fairly yummy but most of all difficult to drink. If you get a drink with seeds in them, expect to be crunching on those bitter seeds all night making up most of the drink experience than anything else. I ended up throwing away my drink 1/3 completed because it was too difficult to enjoy. If there is an option to drink it without all of the seeds, I think that’d be nice!

Other than that, the space is well decorated and has lots of open space to enjoy your boba with friends. They also provide games too and a bathroom! However, because of the service and distaste for the drink, it was not one of my favorite spots as a visitor in Washington.

Really nice selection of bubble tea options with a large variety of fruit teas. Tea runs sweet, even 50% sugar. I do miss the strawberry tea with chocolate jelly that is no longer on the menu.

I got the Mango Pomelo Sago. I don’t know what they put in it but all I do know is it will change your life!! Literally the best drink I had.

Ordered online and was notified via text that it would be a 30 minute wait. Showed up in 15 minutes and sat down to wait inside the store. Three orders who ordered after me were all ready before mine. Went up to inquire when my order was ready, and saw that it was just sitting next to the register, but the notification that it was ready had not been sent out yet. Not sure when my drink was ready, but the delay in notification was a great waste of my time.

No ice adjustments, bad quality. Matcha was very bitter and unpleasant as someone who enjoys unsweetened Japanese matcha. I ordered a brown sugar matcha boba. As other reviews have detailed, YiFang really needs to improve the flavor of their milk tea and matcha. I got the regular matcha and here is a side by side comparison of the YiFang matcha with Starbucks. Starbucks is not even a very high quality itself but Yifang falls far below even that. You can tell visually that the quality of the drink is poor, and since ice was unadjustable, I ended up with a drink that was overly sweet even at 30% sugar, bitter, dusty, and watery (as the drink was mostly melted ice). As a matcha lover Yifang is not the place to visit.

Yifang has GREAT fruit tea, but milk tea, not really. The boba pearls are very good though. Here's what I have tried so far:
Matcha brown sugar boba latte: 2/10
Matcha was very gritty and bitter and not at all like the picture, muddy colored and definitely very cheap matcha. Other locations have better quality. If you are used to Starbucks quality matcha (which is also unsweetened) for instance, this is orders of quality below that in terms of taste.
Milk tea: 5/10
Nice mellow black tea but way too much creamer. I noticed they just spoon many tablespoons of coffeemate creamer into the cup, which is not healthy (which i know is common at most boba shops) but their milk tea was lackluster at best, and too creamy.
Fruit tea: 9.5/10
Very refreshing and the best flavor so far. Sometimes the apple chunks are too big to drink through the straw though. The sugar is very high also, even at 30% sugar sweeter than most places and almost unpleasantly so. Dont get this with boba btw since the crunchy passionfruit seeds clash with the soft boba.

Fruit tea is great for summer! The no sugar option has the perfect sour sweet flavor to it.

I love fruit teas here ! Not overpriced like in many others places

The size of boba pearls has been smaller and the milk flavor also got water down than before... i feel i lost my favorite boba place...

The store owner or manager lady is very mean to the helpers in store. I observed how she blamed them in a very condescending tone. Her toxic behavior makes helpers unhappy and passed down the altitude to customers.

They refuse to make my drink without ice. I am happy to pay extra or have it filled up less. But they still refuse. Why??

Get the mango pomelo sago drink… you will not regret it
