Hakata Japanese Restaurant

We visited Hakata today to celebrate my 86 year old father's birthday. We lived in Japan in the 80s so we are always looking for yummy Japanese food.

Hakata did not disappoint!

There are so many great options on the menu! We started with Chicken Yakitori, and a few different rolls (I forgot to take pictures🤦🏽‍♀️): Ichiro with tempura asparagus and cream cheese inside and smoked salmon on the outside; salmon skin roll and the Las Vegas roll.

For my entree, I enjoyed my Tempura and Salmon combination plate which came with salad, rice, miso soup, grilled teriyaki salmon, and several pieces of tempura including two shrimp.

It was a great dinner.

Waited a very long time for 3 basic rolls and 2 pieces of nigiri.

Ordered sake and was given a weird little flower cup and probably lost 10% of what I paid for over the course of pouring like 20 times into this little thing and spilling out of the cup onto myself if I didn't drink just right.

Since the food was taking so long, the server brought us complimentary miso soup but neglected to bring anything to eat it with.

Food tasted great, but not great enough to come back.

BEST SUSHI IN SILVERDALE!!! I have been to lots of sushi places in Kitsap and this one is THE BEST IVE HAD!! Maybe there’s some other hidden gems out there but of the places I’ve been, hakata is the best. The atmosphere is good service is good and the food is AMAZING!! Other places might have a fancier feel but no one’s food compares. Pricing is EXCEPTIONAL value given the quality of the food and ingredients. Not the cheapest place but you don’t go here if you want cheap. You go here if you want the best sushi in town!

Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Kitsap! The food is authentic and flavorful with decent prices! The staff is always friendly & offer great service! I appreciate all the little things they do. Keep up the good work!

The sushi was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. Prices were very reasonable. Friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend the lobster and rainbow rolls!

Great little Japanese restaurant. 1st time there, food quality is good and restaurant is a pretty traditional Japanese restaurant (this is NOT a generic strip mall teriyaki restaurant). My go to dish when testing Japanese restaurants is Katsudon. I give their katsudon 8/10. Katsu was done perfectly. Sauce and egg were a little sparse, but still tasty.

Amazing service, staff was so wonderful. The food was fantastic.
They are doing happy hour everyday 4-close, 20% off alcohol and sushi rolls. Must go place, best sushi in Kitsap.

I placed an order with Maria on the phone and asked a question about one of their menu items. She wasn’t sure of the answer. I asked if she could find out the answer. She quickly got annoyed and irritated. Very unprofessional and not polite.
