Love this menu & haven’t had a bad meal yet. That’s said I usually get one of just a small handful of things. Hey if it works why fix it. I never knew chorizo and seafood 🍤 went so well together. This is my main dish when I visit & love it so. Also their salsa seems to be better than other places, maybe not all other places but among the best.
Terrible service!!! We waited 25 minutes for water! When we complained politely we were told go someplace else! Do not go here!!!
While the food was good, as always, the service was disappointing and definitely soured our dinner. Our family (2 adults and 4 kids ages 2 thru 12) arrived on a Saturday night around 6:30pm. We were greeted with two people opening the doors for us and were seated really fast, so we were really pleased. We were seated around other families so we didn't think we were an anomaly by any means. Unfortunately, it was about 20 minutes of sitting without a server coming to greet us. My husband went to the host to see what was going on and she came over and took our drink order, but could only do sodas because of being a hostess. About ten minutes later, she came back and brought drinks but because we still hadn't had an order taken, she felt bad and took our order. Meanwhile, the other tables were being served by two servers so we don't know why we were being ignored. After the food was eventually brought out, a server stopped by and asked how things were. The food was great and we had a good time, but then at the end of the meal, I still had to go to the front to pay because the server didn't come back. We're totally nice people and were trying to be super patient with the staff, but it can be difficult with four kids and not having any water or chips for that long at the beginning. We normally have a great experience here, so I don't know what was going on. The host was awesome and really tried to help so kudos to her! Anyways, we like this place and will likely go back but it was a bummer to have this experience.
Once again, my wife and I came here for dinner...and to celebrate my wife's birthday. We both had the Grande Margaritas (about $17 ea.) in the gigantic, clumsy, too heavy glasses. Why do Mexican restaurants insist on using this monoliths? Lifting one is like lifting weights to work for your dinner! And I like eating ice now and then, so don't care to use a straw. Sipped the drinks with our usual free chips and delicious salsa. For dinner, my wife decided on the 2 item combo of shredded chicken Tamale and shredded chicken Mexico City Soft Taco with Mexican Rice and Refried Beans ($17.99). She said everything was enjoyable, but nothing special. I had the Asada Y Chile Relleno ($25.49), which is grilled skirt steak with a Relleno (cheese stuffed Poblano pepper). Came with Mexican rice and my choice of quite delicious and flavorful Pinto Beans instead of flavorless refried beans. The steak was quite tasty and relatively tender, while the Relleno did nothing for me. Instead of an oozy, melty flavorful cheese stuffing, it was more like lasagne-type tight, dry, coagulated ricotta cheese. I'm a big Relleno fan and I was not impressed. With tip, the total was around $100...pricey for a Mexican restaurant. Service was fine.
When you point out the silverware as being dirty and your server asks “Are there water spots? Would you like me to clean it for you?”
You realize how they think think about the customer.

Always wait at front desk for someone to show up. Then takes server a while to find you.

Food was okay, just tasted like a heat and serve commercial restaurant
I’m writing mostly because our waitress was absolutely rude and treated our group like we were in kindergarten. At one point she said “seems like you don’t have your listening ears on today” like a condescending grade school teacher when she was serving a party of 20+ people so it was understandably loud in the room. She also cut off one of our members from purchasing alcohol after less than 3 drinks. He was perfectly respectful and sober. The customer service experience here was AWFUL.

So disappointed. I made an order online and their website glitched or something, I’m unsure. The order went through twice, I did not notice this until I went to pick up my order and the hostess asked me if I meant to place 2 orders to which I said no. She showed me one order went through normally and the other through DoorDash in the same minute even though I ordered through their website. The hostess called the manager over to see if she could refund one of them, she could not and only the GM could. She said he would be in the next day and call me when it was taken care of so I wouldn’t have to worry about it. 3 days go by, nothing. I called 3 times and no one ever picked up. I went in and again, only the GM could do it but he wasn’t going to be in the rest of the week. They did inform me that they saw my message in the office and they would remind him. Almost 2 weeks later, I have not received a refund or a phone call or the extra order. I love their food but I’m not sure I feel comfortable spending my money there anymore.

Came here 1/22/25 at around 4 pm. It wasn't busy at all; maybe three tables were taken in the main area. I went in to be seated and I waited several minutes. SIDE NOTE: A few days before Christmas, I went in (same setting; not very busy) and I was waiting five minutes to be seated, then I just left and went elsewhere.
So yesterday, this guy (can't remember his name, I believe he was hispanic) casually comes up as if they were giving tremendous service and asks what I want. Hello! I want to eat! I should have left but I was really hungry, so I told him just that, that I would like to eat. Took me to a table, I told him immediately what I wanted and he appeared confused on what I told him: combo pick three enchiladas. Several minutes later, he brings two enchiladas. I told him I requested the pick three and he proceeded to argue with me about it, saying my finger was over the pick two. It was not, but even if I did point at the two, don't argue with a guest. Customer service 101.
I should have left him a $.05 tip but I'm not like that. However, I will not be returning to this location. Staff evidently needs a course on customer service and, going by the various reviews of this establishment, more urgency to not keep guests waiting to be seated/served.

I’ve been here before and had pretty slow service but at least it was service. Today we stood at the host desk for about 10 minutes, when my friend and I sat ourselves in the bar area the manager asked us if we “just slid on in here”. We explained how we waited and no one came or acknowledged the people waiting(even just to say someone will be with you shortly), he then told us the host was busy and asked us to go back to the host desk and wait. We left instead. If your host is busy in the back packing to go orders… it doesn’t really make sense to have a bunch of servers standing around.
I wish i had gotten the managers name as he was pretty arrogant and unprofessional.
That being said, better management would probably benefit this location.
I've been to Moctezuma's restaurant a few times now. Service is always good and the atmosphere is great. The food is usually delicious but sometimes can be slightly inconsistent depending on who is cooking that day, such as quality of cook on the steak or saltiness of the Guacamole, but over all still enjoyed the meal.
Kid-friendliness: I've seen plenty of kids eating there with their families just not allowed near the bar area.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, very wheelchair accessible. While dining in, I've seen a few people with various kinds of wheelchairs dining easily with the staff making accommodations

I don't like giving a less than stellar review for a restaurant with such lovely atmosphere, but my husband and I both got sick after eating here- emergency bathroom status. We had the cilantro lime salad, chimichonga, and table chips and dip. Hopefully they aren't getting others sick, too, because I would have liked to go back, although I'm not so sure if I'd like to take a chance!

Extremely disappointed with my experience. We were seated and waited a long time to even get water or be acknowledged. The food was bland, the meat tasted like it was heated in a microwave and beans tasted like they came from a can. The rice resembled the taste of wood. WAY over priced for what you get. Don't let the atmosphere fool you.
