This place was great! The staff was very friendly, service was great and quick. We tried the carne asada street tacos and the carne asada tacos al carbon (served with pico, cheese and tortillas dipped in salsa). The meat was tender and very flavorful and rice and beans were also really good. The horchata was one of the best I’ve ever had. Overall just great experience, really authentic flavors and would definitely come back.
Well food was what we expected from a Mexican restaurant in a strip mall and the service was fine, the extremely extensive cocktail menu had no prices listed and we had to ask three different employees before we could get pricing on things. When I asked how much a shot of one of the tequilas listed on the menu was, we were told it was either $6.50 or $7.50 so I ordered it, and honestly I was shocked that it was that cheap, but then they came back to let us know that he was wrong...
First time eating at Tonala Mexican Restaurant, and I was very impressed! The taco salad was absolutely delicious—fresh ingredients, great flavor, and a generous portion. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu. Highly recommend!
