My family loved their Maple Bar and Strawberry Frosted Doughnut. They were eaten so fast that I didn't get to take a picture.
Planned an outing with my kid to get donuts, made sure they would be open, since sometimes these places have funny hours. Showed up at 8:00am, and they had a paper sign on the door stating they were CLOSED for a week. This is the 21st century, a paper sign is insufficient.
Great place!
Really good donuts and friendly service.
Blueberry fritter was amazing
We took.our granddaughter here for an end of school year treat.
my favorite donuts!! been coming here for years. they sell out so fast
I have visited several times and have consistently felt that the service is lacking. Additionally, I find the prices for the donuts to be quite high.

Highly meh. Was looking forward to trying and I was very disappointed. Got a mint and tasted like chocolate. Well over $3 for one. Probably won't return. The cake was nice, it had a fresh and crispy mouth feel. Also the cashier put on a glove to retrieve, which I appreciate. Very easy parking. The lingering coating of whatever they use is very unpleasant .

Ordered 2 bagels with schmear to go. Got to the parking lot and the bagels were ice cold and super doughy. Donuts are good but skip the bagels

I kept meaning to try this place. Finally ordered this morning through an app. They were out of one of the bars I selected to try so they gave me free extras as an apology. I haven't managed to try all the flavors they sent yet, but these donuts are big. Their fritters are huge and delicious. Also this glazed original is no BS the best original glazed donut I ever ate. Blown away by the donuts AND the customer service. What a great shop!

Retro Donuts is pretty close to home for us which is the only reason we ever go. They have a great specialty option, the Gigi - that is, if you can ever get one. We've been many times and they were out almost every time. Today's trip was around 8 AM on a Sunday for reference, so not a situation of being sold out at noon on a Thursday.
We asked if they had it this morning and with a scowl were told no. I don't know what my family did to offend these ladies working today, but everything we said or asked was met with attitude. We felt rushed to make our selection and get out despite being the only customers present.
We ended up getting a pour over coffee, a chocolate milk, a vanilla sprinkle donut, and a bagel breakfast sandwich. The coffee and chocolate milk were the best part.
The donut, not dissimilar to the rest of the selection, was a standard iced donut with nothing to write home about. The same standard donut you could get at the grocery store or gas station for a third of the price (this was $3 for a single donut). The breakfast bagel sandwich was undercooked and cold.
We've been to Retro many times and each time say it will be the last. The poor, overpriced selection (not even a single filled donut in a specialty donut shop?) can usually be made up for is usually made up for with the cute retro atmosphere, good drinks, and excellent service. That service, the last saving grace to the shadow of what this place used to be, is now gone and we will not be giving it another chance.
Go to Yokes for a better selection, better prices, and better service. Casual Friday is another choice with the premium price point, but options beyond what is offered at a gas station like Retro.

I was born here in Spokane, My dad was a Police officer for over 30 years! We both had a passion for Donuts! Ha, keep your comments! We opened up alot of donut shops! The Donut Parade was fantastic when I was at Gonzaga in the early 70's .Thier O.K still but when the owner died! To greasy now on the bars! Jon opened up Retro in 2016 and incorporates a fantastic crew of workers! He is the Donut King!!! His different flavors are just a few of his cooking methods! LOL Rob
