Slow service and no hello right away
My wife and I had lunch at the grill today. The hostess asked if we minded sitting in the bar, which we agreed to. We sat for over 20 minutes before the server (who was also the bartender) came over and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We told her we were ready to order food and she took our order.

South Hill Grill offers a pleasant dining experience with a nice vibe, perfect for date nights or family outings. The restaurant is known for its excellent service and atmosphere. The lamb chops with Risotto and Chef's Choice Sushi were tasty, although some felt the sauce overpowered the meat and the sushi was unevenly cut. The steak bites were a hit, tender and flavorful, earning compliments for Chef Jake. Guests have enjoyed the chicken fried steak as one of the best, while the pork and apples received praise for being fantastic. However, the lemon chicken was reported as overcooked. The loaded mashed potatoes were great, but the white wine risotto and seasonal vegetables did not impress, tasting bland and soggy. A spot that's great for families with kids looking for a nice meal out, though parking can be limited despite a huge lot. Customers have praised the friendly and knowledgeable server Sasha, the delicious halibut special, and the exceptional asparagus preparation. The restaurant has also been commended for its accommodating approach to gluten-free needs and its fun, vibrant atmosphere, although it may not be the best choice for quiet conversations.
