This is one of the best places in Spokane to just chill and work on your laptop. I always order the Blueberry Fog with coconut milk.

This particular location is fine if you enjoy a loud bar-like atmosphere on the weekends and during brunch time. Seats fill up fast with families and college students studying.
As for the service, it’s different and sometimes nice to have someone come find you and serve you your beverage but other times I’d prefer the old-school way of calling out orders from the bar. But because of how loud and spacious the floor plan is, that’s not doable.
Pro tip: if you like espresso beverages like shots or Americanos, be aware of when they just got through a rush. It takes a hot minute for them to re-calibrate the machine-I’ve gotten plenty of over-extracted shots that were tough to get down.

This chain of local shops (and this location in particular) is world class. Seattle’s best coffee shops—which I frequent regularly—have nothing on Thomas Hammer.

Good coffee, in a modern and tasteful environment. Food is minimalistic, but it competes.
However. I stopped going here because the lady with the neck tattoo is always super rude to me, and I'm as polite as ever as a customer having worked in customer service myself. I'm not sure what her attitude problem is, but she's really not that important or impressive to be throwing shade on customers as a barista. I truly wish the owners would take the time to care, and train their employees. I'm embarrassed for them; this place could be five stars if staff actual tried, and showed a minimal level of kindness, respect, and decency.
Until then, there are plenty of coffee shops around Spokane that offer similar products, in a casual atmosphere, at lower costs, without making the customer feel unwelcome or stupid.
I don't get it, but I will stay away.

The coffee and food here are great, But… The Customer Service is what I want to comment on. My daughter and I were in town and staying at an Airbnb near by and we came here every day for coffee ☕️ 💖
From the girls at the front counter to the girls in the drive through, everyone complimented us, engaged in conversation and were genuinely sweet and friendly. Thank you for making this spot so welcoming while in town 🥰 ☕️

Pleasant modern feel inside this coffee (and much more) shop on the south hill. Miles above Starbucks in my opinion. If it sounds good, order it.

The coffee is good, but the hours of operation and constant “private events” company event closures or broken equipment is very inconvenient and inconsiderate.

Pretty good coffee drinks and the staff are always friendly. The one issue I have is that they will mess up your drink order like a solid 10% of the time. I don't know if it's that they're too busy or what but every now and then you'll get a mocha with no chocolate or a specialty drink where they just completely forget a flavor or something. It's weird.

This is anfun coffee shop on the south hill across the street from Sac Jr High school. They have a variety of food as well as great coffee and other drinks. It's a little hard to find parking. It's a fun place with good eats and coffee.

This drive thru is terrible. After I ordered a single black coffee, I pulled up to the service counter and waited, and waited and waited. No acknowledgement, no greeting, just an employee busy taking orders and tapping on a screen.
Finally, I tapped on the window, only to be told by the employee would be a few minutes because she had to get orders into the oven. So, the employee is telling me that the orders from the several cars in back of me are taking precedence over my order? Shouldn't it be in the order received? I just left without the coffee. It's back to Starbucks for me. Horrible service.

I visited Thomas Hammer Coffee in South Hill on 6/12/25, and I honestly wish I hadn’t. The service was terrible. Staff were unfriendly and abrasive right from the start. When my partner asked where the bathroom was, we got a cold, and dismissive response. I also asked about their merchandise and confirmed the size of my coffee (a 20 oz “large”), but received zero explanation or engagement from the employees.
I ordered a white chocolate mocha, which ended up being completely undrinkable. The espresso was bitter and over-extracted, with no balance or smoothness, just a harsh, burnt taste. And somehow, this terrible drink cost me over $9. That’s $2 more than Starbucks!
What’s worse is that it’s really difficult to be worse than Starbucks, but this local shop managed to do it. That’s especially disappointing because I wanted to support a local business over a corporate overlord. Instead, I got overpriced garbage in a cup and customer service that made me feel like I was bothering them just by being there. However the “regular” customer that was ahead of us received awesome service from the 2 ladies behind the counter. A little kindness, receptive to questions and a smile can go a long way.
Won’t be returning.

Even though not on the menu, I love the fact I can still order the Fireball and someone knows how to make it....
