I always make a stop at Big river grill when im in Stevenson or passing through. Their food is good and most items make in house, like ground meat, veg patty etc. I like the veggie burger with the chilli and the rueben sandwich with sweet potato fries. You really can't go wrong with any items there. Lots of good family dining memories here.

We had a very disappointing experience here. Our group of seven included two seniors and two toddlers, and we were looking forward to a nice meal together. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel unwelcome.
While waiting to be seated, our young son made a small sound, as toddlers do, and the lady at the bar immediately reprimanded him unnecessarily. It was upsetting and completely uncalled for.
Once we were seated, things didn’t improve. Several groups who arrived after us received their food before we did. We asked politely if we could get the toddlers’ meals earlier to avoid fussiness, but our request was ignored. When we followed up, the same bar lady responded rudely.
The lack of basic courtesy and respect—especially toward families with young children and seniors—was shocking. We don’t expect special treatment, but we do expect to be treated with fairness and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was entirely lacking here.
We will not be returning and do not recommend this place to families or anyone who values good service.

We stayed at Skamania lodge (which is cool) but, the dining was less than impressive. We found Big River Grill (nothing else open on a Monday). How lucky we were! Creative affordable menu, great craft cocktails and awesome service. If you’re at the lodge, do yourself a favor and drive down to Stevenson, support local and be the better for it.

I went back due to lack of options that were open. Service was excellent. Food was ok. Honestly a very different experience from the night before. Such a different good service does. I was so pleasantly surprised.

On our way home from memorial weekend we decided to go through Stevenson for the first time instead of Cascade locks. My husband heard from work friends that there were some good restaurants and shopping so we chose Big River Grill for dinner. We arrived at 4:30 hoping for dinner but the dinner menu begins at 5. There were plenty of good options on the lunch menu and everything was great. We all enjoyed our food, the service was excellent and we left eager to return as we only live 30 minutes away. Unfortunately the high of the fun weekend did not last long and by the time we arrived home at 7pm I was very ill and remained ill for the following 20 hours. The lettuce on my burger was off! Thankfully no one else in our group had ordered anything with that ingredient but when I called the restaurant to warn them so that no one else would get sick, I was met with disregard and a manager never called me back. We will not be returning unfortunately. Maybe order the burger without lettuce? It really was fantastic lol

Fabulous pasta dishes. Ordered Smoked Salmon Alfredo and Spicy Garlic Shrimp… delicious! Our server, Crissa, was super. Very attentive and friendly. Even gave us a history lesson on the restaurant. Will definitely be back.

We came here after an overnight at a party and everything was amazing, the waitstaff were super friendly and bantery, and they have super cool merch for sale in partnership with the skate shop next door. The salmon cakes are SO GOOD, but literally everything was awesome. We also had the salmon sandwich, two burgers, the steak sandwich, the fried chicken sandwich, the chili, creme brulee, blackberry pie and brownies and everything was soo good. We will definitely be back!!!
