“If you’re passing through Stevenson, Washington, make sure to stop by Gotta Hava Java coffee stand ☕️ This place has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere—it really stood out to us. Even though we only stopped once, the experience left a lasting impression. The staff were incredibly friendly, greeting us with big smiles and laughter that honestly helped ease our nerves after we accidentally ran into the stand and almost took off their gutter 😅 Instead of making it awkward, they were kind, understanding, and handled it with such a great attitude. That level of genuine friendliness is hard to come by and made the whole visit memorable for all the right reasons. What really makes this place special is that welcoming vibe—it’s the perfect stop before a hike, a drive through the Gorge, or just to brighten your day. “Stopped by on a Sunday. There was several people that came in while we were there. I love seeing a local business be busy! The 7 layer bar was excellent, and the Tillamook Marionberry pie ice cream was great too. The girl working was cheerful and helpful.”

“Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant in Cascade Locks delivers the kind of meal that reminds you why you love authentic, well‑crafted Mexican food. From the moment we sat down, the service was warm, the atmosphere inviting, and the food came out looking and tasting like it was made with genuine pride.

We ordered a combination plate featuring a shredded‑beef taco, a chile relleno, and a ground‑beef enchilada, all served with classic rice and beans. Every item on the plate had its own personality. The shredded beef was tender and seasoned beautifully, the chile relleno had that perfect balance of roasted pepper flavor and melty richness, and the enchilada was hearty, comforting, and full of depth. Even the rice and beans, often an afterthought at many places, were flavorful and satisfying.

We also tried the Enchilada Chipotle plate, and it was a standout. The smoky chipotle sauce brought a bold, savory heat without overpowering the dish, and again, the rice and beans rounded it out perfectly.

To top it all off, we shared a margarita flight with mango, melon, blackberry, and guava. Each one was vibrant, refreshing, and surprisingly distinct. The mango was tropical and smooth, the melon light and crisp, the blackberry rich and slightly tart, and the guava sweet with a bright finish. It’s the kind of flight that makes you want to pick a favorite, but you end up loving all four.

If you’re passing through Cascade Locks or looking for a dependable local favorite, Ixtapa is absolutely worth the stop. Generous portions, great flavors, and a team that clearly cares about the experience. We’ll definitely be back.”

“It's a great little hole in the wall tavern. It's been there for a long time. Parents owned it then passed it down to son. The staff is super friendly and the food is really good. It's not 5 star dining It's a typical redneck bar but has pool tables and music. Nice place to let loose.”

“We had our wedding welcome dinner at Gorges Beer Co. in April and are so happy with it! Gorges is an amazing venue, and the food and drinks are great. They have a large selection of beer on tap, which our guests thoroughly enjoyed. The wine was all sourced locally and delicious as well. We did our welcome party on the top floor, and the views of the mountains and sunset were incredible. The indoor/outoor vibe was perfect ambiance for our welcome party. Kelli and Travis were incredibly helpful in planning the event and really helped us customize everything to create the perfect welcome event for our family and friends. The top floor is a great place for a private party, and our guests could not stop talking about the view! We can’t wait to come back”

“I love biscuits and gravy, and the biscuits and gravy here is legitimately some of THE BEST I have EVER had. The biscuits are fluffy and have a delightful touch of sweetness. The gravy features house made sausage. The pairing is fantastic. I got it with a couple over medium eggs on top (slightly overdone, but forgivable).

Ended up paying more than I anticipated, but that probably has more to do with me being cheap, and less to do with the value of the food/service.

Cozy atmosphere and delicious coffee round out the experience. Perfect breakfast after a brisk night camping in the nearby national forest!”
