“We were looking for a nice quiet place for coffee and found it here. Service was good and the muffins were most excellent. Sat at the window and watched the weather- very pleasant”
“This place is amazing. It has all your necessary features and information. There's a post office out of here and pretty decent food along with a great atmosphere. It has real nice views and the people are super friendly. Best place in town.”
“The burger was super tasty and they even had a very good gluten free bun. Knowledgeable about gluten-free stuff. Yummy beer. Friendly service. We hope to be back!”
“Where do I start? The beer was delicious! I had the Oneonta Falls Hazy and the Hole-In-The-Wall-Falls Juicy IPA. Both were excellent! Food-wise, there were two burgers and the fried chicken sandwich ordered at our table. I had the White Cheddar Bacon Jam burger and let me tell you, AMAZING! The fries were excellent as well. One last comment on the food. The lemonade is hand pressed and oh my was it delightful. Our server was super kind. I'm an hour away from here and can't wait to go back.”
“The server/bartender was subbing to help the cook out today, and he did a wonderful job. The vegetarian sandwich was incredibly delicious! I ordered the only IPA on tap, and it was refreshing after my strenuous hike in the Eastern Gorge at Tracy Hill in the snow. Great day with a great restaurant stop in Cascade Locks!”
“Nice low-key atmosphere. Good is delicious and a good price & portions. Especially like the Nw Salad with brisket, super smokey chili, and the pretzel sticks with cheese. Tried a beer flight of IPAs and stouts. IPA were quite hoppy enough for our tastes and the stout was a big too sweet. Not bad, just not our taste.”
“"The best ever." My boyfriend and I loved visiting this tavern so much that we went back repeatedly throughout our stay in town. The employees are very fun, pleasant, and welcoming and the food and drinks are awesome. The atmosphere was great and they have trivia, karaoke, games, popular sports on TVs, and it is obviously a popular local hangout. We highly recommend this tavern and will make it a tradition to return throughout the year when we are visiting in the area.”
“We are blessed with a lot of great Mexican places here in the Gorge. I have been to several of them. This one is the best. This one is worth going out of your way for. Everything I've had has been so delicious. So perfectly cooked. So flavorful. And it's the small things, like the way the ingredients are so perfectly chopped in the perfect size and everything is distributed so perfectly so that every bite is as good as the last. And the fact that they put little chunks of mango in the shrimp burritos. Its things like this that put them over the top. And the churros, my God, the churros. And of course the people running the place are just so nice. I would eat here every day if I could. Plus they have a really nice little covered seating area with nice picnic tables and nice lighting, so you can come an eat here when it's raining. Again, this place is worth going out of your way for.”
“Great outdoor space (even on a rainy day), delicious sandwiches, a smaller selection of beers on tap but a good variety in styles. Playlist is great too, as others have mentioned :)”
“Been coming to Stevenson for over a decade and this was such a nice surprise to see open! They sometimes have amazing cinnamon rolls, or ice cream, sandwiches, quesadillas - all much better than I was expecting. Friendly staff, and the coffee is great too.Parking: Drive-thru only but plenty of nearby parking all over Stevenson.Kid-friendliness: Ice cream, cookies, and they gave our kid stickers :-)”
“My daughter and I stopped in for breakfast before leaving Stevenson and what a treat! Delicious food, a charming atmosphere and one of the most wonderful waitresses I’ve ever encountered. She (Michelle S.) was delightful. Happy and cheerful as well as efficient, she made a lovely meal even better. We will definitely return to Big River Grill!”
“Only place I will ever buy meat from again. Wonderful people. I would highly recommend trying the sausage and cheese stuffed portobello mushrooms. 5 stars”
“Nothing beats a huge plate of Mexican food after a day of hiking! The taco salad and veggie burrito were delicious! Staff were friendly and food came out quick. They have a few picnic tables under a shade canopy if you want to sit and eat. We will definitely be stopping here again!”
“I stayed at the Hot Springs for my birthday and came in to use the coupons given when I checked in, and I am so glad I did!! The food was amazing (shout out to the cook from Minneapolis, you know your stuff!), and the bartender Rachel was kind, made very tasty drinks, and even helped me narrow down what route to take for my birthday hike. I couldn't have asked for more, and will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!!!”
“Great little coffee shop in Stevenson WA. Tucked a bit into a gas station so don't miss it! Delicious European bakery items, great coffee, friendly service, comfortable seating, cute and quirky decor.”
“This is your typical dive bar that has good food, stiff drinks. A local hangout. Try the fried chicken or the Bungalow Burger. Best and friendly bartender, opens only after 4:00pm.”
“Great little taco truck off the main road in Stevenson. I was just passing thru and was looking for a McDonald's to get a quick cheap breakfast sandwich and am glad I pulled in here instead. Just got a couple of Street Tacos for $3 each ($4 for lengua). The Pastor Tacos weren't my favorite but the lengua was excellent, and the portion of meat was very generous, with just the Classic cilantro & onion toppings.”
“On a wet cold dreary day, we popped in for food. The soup was absolutely delicious (though could've been a bit hotter) but the beauty of this space is the community within. We were outsiders, looking in and enjoyed the interaction of children and adults. It was like sitting in someone's living room and we didn't want to leave.:-)”
“We finished a girls day at the hot springs with snacks at Red Bluff. The bartender was extremely personable and helpful when navigating the menu. Don't sleep on the pork buns, poke nachos and steak bites.”
“Great baristas and well-made coffee and baked goods. Open 7 days, really appreciated in this part of the Columbia Gorge where there are few coffee options. My favorite stop on the Washington side. No indoor seating, but a small covered outdoor area for two.”
“Visiting from California and we decided to stop by this local restaurant. We loved the service they provided, it felt organic. The staff would engage with everyone that came in. When we got our food, it was quick and tasted so good. We spent $80 with a large pizza (16 inch) and a 12 inch pizza, 5 beers, 2 Pepsi’s, cheese bread, and the tip. Chef’s kiss, it tasted so good, especially the crust on the pizza. If you want good beer and great pizza, stop by!”
“Such good food! They had lots of gluten free options and everything we got was incredible. Highly recommend the spicy Hawaiian pizza!!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options”
“We have always wanted to try this place for breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal . The server, cook, waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. A place to go have breakfast or lunch or golf !”
“Stopped here for lunch on a motorcycle trip down the gorge this last summer. I had to try the deep-fried catfish tacos...Yum, one of the best fist tacos I've ever had!!!!!I don't remember what my buddy had, but we both enjoyed our lunch and a cold beer on a hot day.”
“My wife wanted something cold for dinner. The Subway restaurant in Hood River was closed because of the hot weather. I drove across the Hood River toll bridge, paid Washington sales tax, and drove back across the Bridge of the Gods toll bridge to Cascade Locks. The staff and service were awesome. They had our sandwiches ready and waiting when I arrived. Thank-you for being there for your out of state neighbors!”
“The food here is amazing. The lemon pepper wings and smoked nachos are delicious. But you can't go wrong with the burgers and pizza either...some of the best in town! A little pricey, but there are definitely ways to eat here without spending an arm and a leg because of the variety. Did I mention the view of the Columbia River?! Breathtaking.”
“Came here in a windy and a bit cold day. We sat in the outside patio. It is right on the river and view is unbeatable. And yes it is winter Columbia Gorge where you expect to see the high wind. The restaurant tried to keep guest comfy by providing patio cover and heaters. The service was a bit slow due to lack of servers (apparently). Food was ok. Nothing specially but typical American foods. Pricewise, it is about $20-$30 with tip included.Free parking.”
“The food is delicious and varied....creative. The glazed Coppa was killer.Kids with narrow pallets might need an assist from the bar menu, though. In the summer...the view....service was Pro but friendly.”
“This little restaurant has a drive thru, but half the fun is standing in line and making new friends with all the young people waiting for cones. And the flavors! I had a butterscotch soft serve waffle cone. Omg, YUM! It's a must stop!”
