The menu displayed on the internet doesn't match up to in restaurant. So there was very little offering for lunch. 3 of our meals were served on a toast or bread, they were all so hard, couldn't even cut them. Disappointed for cost over quality.

I stayed at Skamania Lodge several days over the weekend for a conference. I ate dinner in the Cascade Dining room for convenience sake, yet I still found the food and service to be top quality.
I haven't stayed or dined here before, and I had no expectations whatsoever. The dining room is spacious and has a nice, elegant, yet rustic feel to it. I dined at 530 each night and had no need for reservations. I was seated promptly by the windows on the east side with a great view of the mountains in the background.
The servers were knowledgeable and attentive, checking in frequently to make sure I was happy. I ordered roasted chicken first night, halibut the second and a pork chop the third. All meals were excellent, though my favorite turned out to be the chop. It was very flavorful, cooked exquisitely, and was very lean yet juicy and succulent. ?
I tried a different cocktail each night and found them all great in their own right. The Boulevardier, the Lodge Lounger, and the Old Fashioned were each well-balanced and alcohol forward pours. A flavorful accent to the meals.
I enjoyed my stay very much and would recommend the Cascade Dining room to weary travelers who do not want to search for a decent meal off property. Relax and fear not. The meal you want is right there around the corner. ?

We have been coming to SL on and off for years and always loved the Sunday Brunch spread. We actually live not too far from SL. We stayed the night last night and was looking forward to the brunch on Sunday. After making a reservation a week ahead of time we finally got seated and I went to the buffet area and was very surprised to find scrambled eggs, bacon, undercooked sausage links, potatoes, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. My food was luke warm at best. Not sure if that would pass a Health Dept. visit. All of the other chafing dishes were sitting empty and had a napkin sitting inside. I thought for a minute I was at Best Western. What happened to the great brunch you used to have? Our server told us there was a change in the kitchen and because of Covid? Covid? I'm so sad to see how this place has gone downhill. We are happy to pay good money for great food! But this food was not good and I am not exaggerating. We had lunch here the day before - same thing - not good. SL has a great location and pretty outside. But the restaurants and the decor and the whole downstairs area looks so tired and old. Perhaps it's due for a little deep cleaning and upgrading. I am sure staffing is one of the problems and mismanagement. Please - let's put some moola into the place and get it back to where it used to be. Such a shame to see a one-time beautiful lodge go downhill. Lastly, a fresh paint job on the whole exterior would do wonders. Thank you.

Hoping we were there on an off day - but it was awful. Food was burnt and over cooked (eggs benedict was basically two hard boiled eggs on burnt muffins) the crab was just warmed up but fried and crispy. Drinks were awful - was just so sad and bad when it used to be so good.
Our waiter Dustin was amazing so competent kind and made us feel so special. The food was very good.

Duck was raw and cold in the middle. Asparagus was overcooked and mushy. Insanely low quality especially for the price. The only reason they don't get 1 star is because the workers were awesome our waitress was very good.

Birthday dinner. Travis was exceptional in taking care of us. Not hard on the eyes. But very attentive in all. The food was great. Dessert was average fare nothing exciting there. But beyond that a solid meal with solid service with a handsome waiter.
I've eaten here four or five times. The food is always quite good. It's expensive however so you would expect the quality of food to be good for the price. The view is incredible. The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant but could be improved for the price. The service has always been underwhelming. I know you have to hire locals for service but if you're charging top dollar, you really should do a better job with training and development. I keep coming back but don't ever feel like I'm getting a good value.
We went for our anniversary and listed that in our reservation. It wasn't even acknowledged. Our server was very inattentive and we had our food before our beverages. Overall it was just a blah experience for the price. We also ate in the restaurant for breakfast this morning and the service was incredible. We 100% believe our disappointing dinner was due to our server. The folks at the table behind us had a different server who was engaging and attentive. For the price and the fact that we were celebrating a special occasion, we expected more.
Beautiful setting bit very poor dining. Our "full leaf" Caesar salad consisted of the small interior leaves of Romain with no dressing that we coukd find, and shredded Parmesan, a real ripoff and disappointment. Entrees were passable, nothing to write about. Even the special cocktails were ho hum, and our waitress firgot to bring them until we asked about it. "Oh dear, I forgot!" But the view out the window was grand.

Food was not what it use to be. My biggest disappointment was how we were so poorly tended to by our server. I almost had to get up to get her attention and noticed she was tending to the tables by the views way more than us and they arrived after us. We waited about 35 min till she remembered our table and all we wanted was more water and drinks at that point. She was friendly though but still we spent a LOT more time waiting for our food to arrive as well than the time we planned on being there. We spent so much time waiting in the restaurant that we didn’t get to do any other activities there and had to leave because we all have dogs waiting at home for us. Very upsetting
Outstanding brunch choices with a priceless view of the Columbia River Gorge.

Wonderful venue. Great staff and service. No true lunch menu. Rather brunch, apparently daily. Which meant that the choices for a typical lunch were limited. The food we had was good but but we would have liked more options.
We were celebrating our anniversary. The dining room seating made the most of the beautiful Gorge view. All staff were pleasant and made us feel welcome. Our dinners were very flavorful and nicely presented. The main negative is partially on us for not bringing it to someone's attention. The HVAC was blowing cold the entire time. It wasn't terrible, but made an impression that I'm sure they are not striving for.
Anyone who does not give this place 5 stars must not have had the smoked steelhead trout hash. Get it. It will change your life. Also the views are lovely and it’s worth a stop in even if you’re not staying at the lodge!
