Cascade Dining Room

Wanted a nice little Fathers Day brunch after our hike….everything was bad. Showed up 9 minutes before our reservation and I’m met with “you know, we really do request you to show up at your scheduled time” with a bunch of attitude. So we walk around for 9 minutes, to arrive at exact minute of the reservation to avoid another scolding. Then as they’re seating us they let us know the brunch menu advertised on the website isn’t being offered, all they have is continental breakfast (bacon, undercooks potatoes, and pancakes)….everything else they were out of. Just a disappointment all around. Everyone left hungry and annoyed.

We stayed the night at Skamania for our anniversary, away from our young kids and ready to take full advantage of a night to ourselves (first time in 3 years). We got ready for dinner, went down to check out the menu around 5:30 and there were 4 staff hanging out by the host station. They asked if we were dining with them and we said we’ll be back, just going to have a drink at the bar first. When we came back a short while later, they asked if we had a reservation and that it was going to be a 1.5 hr wait.

Never did they once ask us about a reservation while we were standing there, nor at check in a couple hours earlier. We ended up waiting around for 1.5hrs, which meant we weren’t able to go in the hot tub and relax like we wanted to and all we could thing about is how silly it was they didn’t ask us if we had or wanted to make a reservation. I would have probably just ate at the bar and skipped the dining room all together but we thought it would be special. Speaking of specials, they were out of that AND all of the dessert options by the time we were seated…so didn’t even get to really celebrate.

So I messaged the hotel and no response. I then filled out one of their surveys from an email I got and a few days later I got a message from a “no-reply” email from Amanda, the dining outlet manager, saying they “will try and do better next time”. I still have a bad taste in my mouth and it’s not from the food.

Our server Travis was awesome! So friendly and efficient! The food was very good and the view was nice. The seafood salad was really good as was the seafood gratin was quite tasty. And I highly recommend the house sourdough bread! Signage was lacking for getting to the restaurant but overall it was a very good experience!

Service was great but food wasn’t great. We ordered prime rib and it was tough. My husband didn’t eat his. The waitress was great didn’t charge for his meal but was very disappointed in the food.

We dined at the Cascade Room for prime rib night yesterday. The food was delicious, the drinks were great and the atmosphere was perfect with great views of the river. The highlight of our night though, was our waitress, Jolene. She was so sweet, attentive and had great reccomendations - we would come back just have her as our server again!!

Very impresed. This wild boar with polenta and beets is one of the most decadent meals I have had. Outstanding, rich and creamy flavor. I do recommend. I didn't like sitting behind the bussing station. I think that should go. But, a beautiful view out the window that we were also next to.

Such a lovely place. Food was very good, but I believe the waitstaff was short handed. Waited quite a while to order, and for food delivery. Staff well intentioned, but needed more help.

Lodge Seafood Salad, Lodge Burger, and Dungeness Crab Roll. The salmon in the salad was delectable, smoked perfectly! The Lodge Burger was a decent standard burger, and the fried egg definitely helped. The crab roll was one of the heftiest and best-tasting ones I've had in a long time, and the fries were well seasoned and all super crispy!! 10/10

Enjoy dinner and one breakfast at the Cascade restaurant within the hotel, two nights in a row whilst on an anniversary trip. First night was a Valentine pre-set menu for two with a set price. Second night we chose from the menu. All excellent. I was impressed with the Oxtail risotto. Also appreciated the sensible portion sizes

The food was absolutely delicious! I would go again for the food, maybe a to go order. I didn't care for the hostess, she was pretty rude, it also seemed like you didn't get taken care of unless you were white and a regular.

Delicious food and good service. If you're staying at the lodge (or in the nearby cabins), it's an easy option for evening dining. Definitely recommend to make a reservation ahead of time!

We came in for drinks and dessert. My husband had the pear turnover and I had the Kumquat frozen dessert. Both were delicious and a good size. Our server, Warren was friendly and helped us to pick a good dessert. Definitely recommend eating here!

We arrived about 15 mins early to our dinner reservation, there was a little shuffle with a group in front of us that had been forgotten so we were seated about 5-10 minutes late. We then placed our orders as normal. After getting through appetizers we noticed our food was taking a while to come out but our waitress hadn't stop by so we could ask, turns out there was a “confusion in the back and our ticket wasn't seen”. At this point we were pretty annoyed but planned to continue to have a good night. It took our food from that point another hour and 7 minutes to make it out from the time we completed our appetizers. During this hour long wait, our waitress did not stop by and was actively avoiding us. When we finally got her attention. We ordered one drink and she forgot about it as well. Just a terrible overall experience.

The food was good, not amazing (though we expected amazing). Dessert options were a little light. Area around the buffet islands was quite tight. Carving station staff was not professional and plates need to be provided at the carving station. Crab was awesome. Service was great. Surcharge was a surprise! Overall very good experience but uneven.

Our food was wonderful, and the service from waiter Warren outstanding. We made sure to sit in his section the next day.
