Stopped here on our roadtrip, the small town has limited options so we were excited about a local Mexican spot. The menu looked promising. The first thing that hits you when you walk in is a nasty smell. Kind of like cigarettes and must. We were served stale chips to start. The drinks were good. The food was very mid. Our server was super friendly and we had great service but at the end of the day it was a bust.

The fact that the rice was zatarains jambalaya was very disappointing . I make Mexican rice at home from scratch and I use zatarains for other recipes. The food was good though.

A cute little Mexican place with huge portions of good food, friendly service and a very local vibe. Try the Queso Street Corn nachos. Really good and very different. Portion was huge (enough for two people for a full meal!)

I went to El Rio over the weekend and enjoyed the delicious food and fun atmosphere. I don't want to seem overly conservative, but our server's lack of attire seemed somewhat unprofessional.. not family friendly

Best texmex I've ever had - and it's in Washington! Food and drinks were amazing, service was great, and everyone was super friendly! Couldn't recommend more to anyone staying in the area

I'll be honest, if you were expecting mexican food this is more texmex. I found the food combinations to be pretty random. I'm happy Stevenson has more food variety but the menu needs improvement. Also they say happy hour is from 9pm to 11pm. But keep in mind the regular menu isn't an option at that point. So it's more of a late night menu than happy hour.
We ordered off the happy hour menu. The margaritas were standard, no complaints. The taquitos were chicken and cheese filled. They came out hot and crispy, but we're spoiled by the jalapeño jelly they were served with. I can't for the life of me figure out why that was the sauce they chose. Why not a salsa Verde or something.
I also ordered the honey garlic shrimp. It came out hot but no garlic,no honey, no seasoning, just a random aioli sauce with a strong mayonnaise taste. I would have preferred that the shrimp were tossed in a garlic butter. Even jarlick would have been better. Then have a spicy sauce on the side.
Service was a bit slow after we ordered. We were going to get more food but our waitress didn't come back around until I placed payment on the table
Idk, I guess go for margaritas.
Food was just ok. Not very flavorful. Also no guacamole!
Great drinks and food
I was dreaming. I was in the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. When I woke up and I found out I was at El Rio Mexican restaurant. Seriously, this is the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. I live in Gig Harbor and I come down here once a year. I always eat here.
My family and I just ate here after leaving our stay at Skamania Lodge. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the steak tacos were and I’m pretty hard to please when it comes to steak 10/10! Two of my sons and hubby got shrimp tacos and said they were pretty good. One of my kids used my chipotle sauce and used that on top of his shrimp tacos and said it made them a 10. The only thing we all weren’t fond of was the rice. We had great service and next time we’re up here we will definitely stop by again!
